This is a photo of my other beautiful grandmother, Doris Skinner. This photo was only small and was ripped in half indicating that someone else may have been on the photo. She lived next door to my grandfather and was engaged to another man who was killed at Gallipoli in WW1. She married my grandfather in 1917 and although she loved him dearly and they had a very happy life together, her first love was never far from her heart. She shared a tender moment with one of my cousins when she was in her 80's about her fiance who was killed during the war and showed my cousin a photo of him that she had kept all that time. She said that she had a tear in her eye as she talked about him. My grandfather died in 1967 but my grandmother lived to the age of 98 and died in 1994. She outlived both of my parents. I am not sure what year this pic was taken but am guessing it would have been about 1915 - 1920. I will have to do a little research on the Safari type clothing and those big hats to see if I can get a rough time frame.
I have a tag with some journalling to pop behind the photo, which I have just realised isn't there...ooops!!! I have used more of the Kaisercraft Sweet Nothings, Prima flowers and bits and pieces from my stash.
Thanks so much for taking the time to pop by to have a peek:)
