Give a Cheer
I love going to the Cat Show in Knoxville every spring with Susan and Clyde. The cats are always so gorgeous, so beautifully tended and wonderfully mannered… and sometimes we even get to pet one! I love petting the Devon Rex and the Sphynx – like petting a hot water bottle covered with moleskin. The best part of the show is when the judges (sometimes) talk about why they’re judging the way they are, what they’re looking for, what this particular cat they’re seeing has going for it, and breed background. We head down early, stay until 3:30 or so, then come back through Sevierville to shop and have dinner. One day, we’ll have to stay long enough to see who’s crowned Grand Champion. But it’s usually a Persian. :-D
