As soon as I saw the "preview" of this kit on Add-On day, I searched out this photo on my hard drive, cleaned it up and printed it out to be ready as soon as the So Chic Kit arrived.
Even so, it took me a couple of days of dithering and trying this and that before I was satisfied with the layout. In the meantime, it occurred to me that this was going to be perfect for the SwirlyHues Challenge. I didn't use the sketch, but the colors are perfect. I used the deep distressing tutorial on one of my layers.
This entire layout was made with "ingredients" from the So Chic Kit. I died the lace with Antique Linen Distress Stain. The pin is part of a RAK that I won from Angelica; she said that it was meant to be used with this kit, so that counts, right?
The photo itself, one of my favorite family photos, shows my Aunt Bernie and Uncle Benny on their wedding day in 1949. My Aunt told me 20 years later that to save money, she choose to wear a pearl grey suit rather than the traditional wedding dress and she still regretted it. The Best Man is my Uncle's brother, who we all called "Uncle" Charlie. The beautiful Matron of Honor is my mother.
Thanks for spreading positivity!
