For Childhood Challenge 6. Journalling reads: I have always loved books. I was asked to read aloud to the class one day when I was in grade prep, and I remember imitating the teacher, holding the book out beside me to show everyone the pictures while I read the text aloud. I used to sit in the local library on the timber bench that ran in front of the kids section and read the Gumdrop series. I sat on the front verandah of Nan and Ray’s house at Willow Grove reading one of my then favourite books: The Value of Courage The Story of Jackie Robinson to cousins who were visiting from Sydney. It took me just under an hour to read the story from start to finish. On a school sleepover my class was put in the library, and I got a corner spot with bookcases at my head and side, so I pulled out Flat Stanley and read it until they turned off the lights. Mum used to catch me still reading in bed at 2am, and sometimes I would stay in bed until 3pm to finish a good book. I have always loved books.

Paper is BG, MM definition and chipboard letters, Nostalgiques paper clip. TFL!
