I got all excited bout the scrap-the-person-before-you Challenge when I ended up behind Dollscrap. I saw her "One Fine Day" LO and imediately knew I wanted to scrap this picture of DD & and I at the petting zoo. Plus as I was putting it together I realized it fit in the August Color Challenge to use Blue, Yellow, & Green. A double whammy! I loved her LO so much I really lifted it amlost exactly (a first for me). These are the elements I tried to emulate:
1. The wide center stripe with one side trim.
2. A large banner over a smaller banner.
3. A cool shaped diamond/oval matting for the picture.
4. Flowers on the side with floating gems
5. Stamped script in the corners...hey that fits the August Four Categories Challenge #3- STAMPING! Whoo Hoo!
6. The mommy/daughter theme

Lifting Dollscrap made this LO come together fast.
I got to use the new wood cheveron paper I picked up from Hobby Lobby.
The green die cut paper, both the banner papers, the butterfly, and even the green gems are all scraps. (The tiny green gems on the green die cut paper are left over from when I had made my wedding invitations...6 years ago!! haha!)

My DH helped me get the idea for inking the wodden title. I told him I was going for an Earthy vibe...he said "Can you make it look like dirt?" Haha! This is what I interpreted from that. I kinda love it...It really looks like a day outside in FL...which is what the picture is! Funny how things turn out.

Here is the link to the lifted LO:
