what a wonderful story! love turtles and this picture; we used to have a lot in our yard but haven't seen any for a couple of years. Our neighbor's dog, though (who is always on a leash) does love to find them and take them home

When I was a child, we had a turtle visit us each year, as well!!! My Dad marked his shell, and sure enough, he'd return to us year after year, until he was a very old turtle, in fact. Great lessons in nature for kids!

Sweet story. So wonderful that he comes back to visit. (My mom had the same experience with a pigeon that she named, "Walter". He came back for 7 years, and we were all very sad when he did not come back in the spring 8 years after he had flown away for the winter.)
