My sister and I went to Italy in 2012 - a retirement gift that I gave myself. We spent 10 days touring the Tuscany region.
When we arrived it was dark, and there wasn't much to see except the lights and the road and the inside of our vehicle. We checked in to our little hotel in Arezzo, the birthplace of Michelangelo, and grabbed a few hours of sleep.
This is the view from our balcony the next morning - my first glimpse of the town as well as the country. It was exactly what I was expecting, while at the same time being so much MORE than I was expecting.
The big building in the back is the Piazza Grande, where the town holds an annual flea market on the first Sunday and preceding Saturday of the month. We went, of course. And it was awesome. And I have pictures, which I'll scrap up at some point and share. Maybe even soon!
I've been wanting to get these photos scrapped forever, but Tammy's travel challenge this month gave me the impetus to get started.
Thanks, Tammy!
