Like Mother Like Daughter

I was thrilled (and a little sad) that my mom handed down her sewing box (the one with the black trim) to me this summer. My absolute favorite memories are going to Joannes with my mom (by bus!), combing through the pattern books and picking out pattern numbers, hunting for them through the cabinets, and then choosing fabrics. Then wed cut out the tissue papers and she would show me how to pin the patterns to the fabrics. I loved going through the box to look for matching threads and notions. When I turned 10, I got my very own sewing box, which I set up just like moms.
