Be the first to cheer this project!
I have been really enjoying looking at Halloween Subway Art the past few years, I've printed a couple of freebies made by crafty graphic designers in the past to use as Halloween décor, but this year, I thought I'd try creating my own! My favourite versions are either black and orange, or a mix of the Halloween colours. So I thought I'd pull out my Halloween sentiment sets and die sets and see what I was inspired to put together. The idea had been rattling around in my brain for a while, so it was fun to pull out the elements and start the creating! I pulled out some cardstocks in Halloween colours. The purple I've used is Gina K's Plum Punch and the green is Gina K's Key Lime. The orange is a lovely cardstock with a shimmer to it, from a local NZ art store. I played around with the placement of the diecuts, figured out which colours to use where and then started sticking them in place. I added some rub on spiders and candy corn. I drew in a little silvery thread for the spider in the 'boo' with a Gelly Roll Sparkle Pen. After laying down all the elements, it was obvious there were too many 'open' spaces and no rub ons that fit them perfectly, so I pulled out my smaller sentiment sets and found two that worked well to fill these gaps. The little bat and some of the small sentiments come from the Handmade Monsters Stamp Set and the Ghost and 31 Oct come from the Halloween Postage Clear Stamp Set. It was fun finding little elements that would work together to fill these spaces whilst adding to the theme and overall look of the piece. I love how it all came together and have it hung on one of our walls now for Halloween décor.
Thanks for spreading positivity!
