Give a Cheer
The plan was to host a small gathering of close friends of my parents to celebrate my dads life. What started as just 15 or so guests grew to 50 (I finally had to dissuade people from coming). But what really surprised me was he even his circle of friends reflected his eclectic style for everything (movies, music, hobbies). We had everyone from fishing buddies to academia to former ambassadors. And they all warm, funny, loving stories to share.
