I've made a batch of cards with a lovely kit from Simon Says Stamp featuring this enchanting woodland deer. I've used brown inks to stamp it in an ombré finish, darker at the base fading to a lighter top. I added glossy accents to the nose and eyes and added a bow to each deer for a bit of extra interest. I've used a mix of plaid and distressed wood backing papers from Tim Holtz Christmas Backdrops paper set. I distressed the image panel edges by wetting and tearing the paper for a distressed look and then inked the edges once dry. I distressed the background panels with a Tim Holtz Distressing Tool. I've used the Peace and Noel words from the Sizzix Tim Holtz Vault Holiday Classic Thinlits Dies for the sentiments. I diecut two from craft cardstock and inked the edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink to give a slight vignette look to the words. Two of the cards I diecut the words from Tonic Studios Scarlet Organza Red Satin Cardstock. I added a little May Arts Twine to these two cards to retain that more rustic feel and I popped the words up with tiny bits of foam strips between the twine strands. The finished panels were mounted on top folding A2 card bases.
