      The lightest color in each of the sets of 4 ink pads is meant to be a light color so you can get a beautiful layered look for flowers, animals, etc. If you like a darker color, you can stamp the image a second time using a Stamp Platform, MISTI, or stamp positioner and it will create a beautiful, darker tone of the same color.
