Has any one tried this with Sizzix big shot foldaway? Foldaway has little more pressure than normal big shot but not been included in support or not support in the betterpress description. Just want to confirm if this work with foldaway. Thanks!

I love the ink print quality that I am getting with my Betterpress. My question is about the depth of the imprint into the cotton paper. My machine is producing little to no imprint. What do you suggest that I adjust to get the proper depth of the design? Add another shim? tia

The main difference between the Spellbinders BetterPress and Glimmer systems is the finish and the process: BetterPress is a mechanical letterpress system that uses ink and pressure to create a matte, debossed indentation, while the Glimmer Hot Foil System uses heat and pressure to bond shiny metallic foil to paper.

Hello, we recommend using the BetterPress Plates only with the BetterPress Letterpress System, as it was specifically designed for that system. It would be best to contact the manufacturer of a specific system or product to get their recommendation; in most cases, they will recommend using the plates they manufacture specifically for their systems or machines.

Hello, Versafine Clair Inks are compatible with this system. Similar to the BetterPress ink by Ranger Ink, they are an Oil-Based Dye Ink, which is the type of ink that works best with the BetterPress. Currently, the Versafine Clair Inks are not available in a cube size. Other dye or oil-based inks may be used, but the impression may not be as dark as with the special formulation of BetterPress Ink.

The Press Plates can be run through the BetterPress System in your die cutting machine, and then the image can be run through your die cutting machine again with the dies. Without knowing what machine you are using, it is hard to help you. Make sure you are using the shims that came with the BetterPress. If you are, my best thought is to try adding additional shims on top of the clear plate of the BetterPress while running it through your machine. A sheet of printer paper can be a good shim added on top of the clear plate. If that helps some, you could try it with two pieces of printer paper. Just experiment, I'm sure you'll get it! :)

It seems like when used with the Big Shot it doesn’t produce an impression which kind of defeats the purpose. I used all three shims and had to add two think pieces of cardstock on top of the top clear plate. It is easy to use but wish it worked better with the Big Shot. The Spellbinders machine must be calibrated differently using more pressure to produce an impression.
