Impressed - Highly recommended. I really hesitated on getting these since I own so many similar products. When I attempted Vicki's methods with my similar products and found that 3 other brands didn't seem to dissolve the same way the VB Art Crayons did on the videos I was watching and my results were not as nice, there were solid flakes. I am so glad I changed my mind and bought these. If I had these crayons first I doubt I would have bothered with the others. These are far more versatile.
crayons are very creamy and blend well with water. I wasn't expecting much but pleasantly surprised.
this order is very nice, however it is not the crayons that I wanted to find, I was looking for the pens or crayon type for journaling on Bible type thin paper. These do not work. You need to prepare the paper first. I used Gesso first but the coloring was not right. Thank you.
These crayons blend with water so easily. Their texture is halfway between a pastel and a crayon, or even a little more like a pastel, so they feel creamy and handle well. They also blend together to create beautiful custom colors to match any layout. I find they dissolve best in a small amount of water, but that if I use too much water, I need only wait a couple minutes to let any big chunks soften and dissolve. I like to color on a drop or two of water on a piece of acetate. I can make the color pale or rich. I then use a smooching technique, splattering, or watercoloring to transfer the color to my paper.
These crayons are simply wonderful. Work dry, with a water pen or paint brush. I have no experience and they were easy to pick up the techniques, bought all the sets, soft, blend easy, work well with water and easy to adjust how much pigment you desire on your projects.
These are fantastic! Easy to work with and very pigmented! Would definately recommend.

Are there 6 different sets of these crayons or did American Crafts just rename them? Thanks.

It is just updated packaging. The art crayons are the same. There are three sets of crayons: warm colors, cool colors, and neutrals.
