Included in the package is one lettering notebook for small brush lettering that includes instructions, work sheets and tracing paper.
I found this book very helpful. Love her style of lettering.

I am interested to know what the instruction part of the book is like, for example, does she begin with the basic strokes, then teach how to join them into the letters and finally words. I was disappointed that the video only shows the various kinds of practice pads to be purchased and nothing at all about the instruction. I am still trying to decide whether this is basic enough for a true beginner and if I like the finished product well enough to learn it. Thanks.

This is not really an instruction book. It is a workbook with tracing paper on top in which you can practice strokes and letters. It starts with strokes, then lowercase letters, then upper case letters. She does not show you how to join letters into words. It is very basic. If you want instruction, she has a book that I highly recommend. It does not have bouncy instruction though. It is just for her normal brush script. It is called "The Art of Brush Lettering". There is another book for making words, it is called "Making Connections" (I can't recommend this one as I have not used it)
