I own the original Take a Bough set and debated a long time about getting this set. This set seems easier and faster to put together. It still takes a bit of time, but given the end result, it’s so worth it. I used the Tim Holtz starburst embossing folder and die combo as a topper abs it’s perfect.
I also got the accessory set with the bead garland die. I haven’t used the ornaments it star, but the garland is really handy to have.

I used the dies to make trees for table center pieces . Making the trees is timely, but I had so much fun. If possible I would recommend buying two die sets. It made the process of cutting out all the pieces a little faster. You will be pleased with your product!
I did not buy this to make 3-D trees. My problem is having enough pieces of pine to produce 100+ cards in a season. So, I will be cutting the larger pieces apart to form boughs. They are a bit thick, but other pine dies seem so thin, so this provides a good contrast. In a single cutting pass, I can get 20 pieces from the 5 largest dies, so that pleases me. I didn't want to pay the price, but it should serve me well for years, so I'm glad I made the sacrifice.
I haven't been able to put down this die since I received it! I find myself adding boughs of greenery to all of my holiday and nature-themed makes. It cuts cleanly and is high quality. It's also very versatile. You can make trees, sprigs of greenery for holiday tags, wreaths and more!

I have not used it but just looking at it I get inspired with several ideas in my head. Can’t wait to use it and the price point was the bonus part (it was a clearances item…;)…)
This set of dies is extensive and the finished product is very time consuming but it is adorable. I plan to make many more trees.
