What is the difference between dye, pigment and hybrid ink?
Dye inks are water-based and literally dye your paper. The ink is soaked up by the paper or cardstock so they tend to dry fast. Pigment inks are made of tiny particles that will sit on top of your paper and will take a longer time to dry. They tend to be brighter, with a denser saturation of color and work well with dark colors of cardstock. They are also great for heat embossing since they stay wet longer. Hybrid inks are the best of the two ink types (dye and pigment) as they have properties of both inks. They also tend to be more translucent in their appearance. Hybrid inks are suitable for all skill levels of crafters due to their compatibility with multiple mediums and surfaces.
What are color families?
The Scrapbook.com Hybrid Inks are designed in color families. Each color family has four individual colors numbered 1 through 4 (1 being the lightest shade in the group and 4 being the darkest shade of the group). Color families are an extremely important aspect of layered stamping because each of the four colors coordinates together to achieve a dimensional, layered look. Every Hybrid Ink Pad has the color family name and the color family number clearly labeled on the lid along with the name of the ink pad and the ink shade. NOTE: The 1 color for some color families is designed to be an incredibly light whisper of a shade for that group.

Lovely selection of Blues and good coverage particularly for solid images, you just have to remember to hold the stamp down for a few beats rather than just kissing it to the card, just to give the ink a chance to sink in to the cardstock.
Being hybrid inks they're great with alcohol markers too.
I love this hybrid ink. The colors are vibrant, the images are crisp and that I can use them as needed on any project is beyond convenience! I have primarily used Tsukineko inks exclusively as my goto pigment ink (we all use Stazon!) to be able to use these dreamy blues and heat set them to keep them translucent is wonderful! Or I can use them as watercolor! The only drawback is, of course, that you can't use them to heat emboss but I have all the Tsukineko inks to do that anyway! I am finally getting the look I want on all of my types of papers!
Scrapbook.com hybrid is my new favourite ink. The ink pads are rich, saturated colour, even the lightest shades cover well. The set of 4 ink pads of one colour group is a great way to get evenly matched gradient tones or for perfect blends on multi layer stamp sets.
Fast service, beautiful blues, love this ink. I'm replacing some of my old inks for this kind. These do double duty.
Love the scrapbook inks. I was a little disappointed with two of the ink pads because they arrived very dry. The customer service was absolutely wonderful and they were very fast with responding to my email and complaint. Will definitely remain a loyal customer!!
I bought all of the 4-pack monochromatic ink pad kits during a major sale and I absolutely love them! I regularly use layering stamp sets from Altenew and Hero Arts and these help out so much!
These are great shades. Pads are inked well. Great for my stamped images, crisp and clear, and works well with my blending brushes. Fast color!
