Not impressed by this item. Took me a little while to figure out how to get word in color with inks & then to cut out.
Doesn't cut out smoothly either . I won't buy press plates again, sorry.
Also, if you ink metal plate the stain remains.

is the cotton paper required or are other papers acceptable? do the system work with the big shot plus?

Hello! You can use other papers with the Spellbinders BetterPress system, but cotton cardstock is recommended to achieve the signature impression and textured look. The BetterPress Letterpress System is compatible with the Sizzix BigShot Plus die cutting machine.

I have just received the better press plate and die set for life's moments sentiments. The picture shows the 5 sentiments as separate pieces. However, when I opened the package, they all appear to be 1 die. How do I use this set in order to make separate sentiments?

Hello, thank you for reaching out. Many of the Spellbinders Betterpress and Die Sentiments come as one plate. You can do them all at once and the cut them with the die. Then you can save what you do not use and always have a sentiment ready. To do one sentiment you could ink the one you would like to have, but in the end you would end up running everything through the machine. We keep our extras in a Scrapbook.com - Crafty Storage Pouch - Zipper Closure - Small link and then look through them when we need a sentiment.
