most often applied over a stencil to add dimension however it can be used just to create layered texture as well. Powders and other mediums can be mixed in for mixed media art

I use it through a stencil to add texture to a card or journal page. Just lay down a stencil over the surface you want covered then spread the paste over it with a spatula. Lift the stencil off and let dry. You can mix pearls or ink with this to add color too.
