I've been eyeing the different stamping tools for some time. I have the original Fiskars stamping tool, so I kept talking myself out of a new one. When I saw the Sizzix demo of this stamp and stencil tool, I immediately knew this was the one for me. I love it! Easy to use and very precise. Waiting to receive the stencils so I can use them as well.

This tool is wonderful for those who stencil and stamp!! The stamp is a easy and precise as the Misti and I thought way easier than the Stamparadous. And itt does so much more!! One of my favorite features is you do not need to use a foam under depending on the stamp depth! That keeps all of the grid lines available for use.
I can’t wait to use it with my stencils!! Ii am so glad I bought this!!

I saw this tool being demonstrated online and have purchased a couple layering stencils that I found very difficult to get the layering effect to work correctly. Once I got this tool it was easy. Using the little green attachment, the stencils clip on the 2 pegs and reman there so that each layer is placed in exactly to correct position. I highly recommend anyone with stencils get one!

This Sizzix Stencil and Stamp Tool is a great addition for crafters intending to stencil even more than stamp.
While the product is a tad too big for stamping, although it does the job very well, I preferably like it more for the stenciling part (which is what I do more of).
The adaptors for the non sizzix stencils do the job and it’s a pleasure overall using this tool.

Easy to assemble and easy to use. You have to stamp with rubber stamps at the non-hinged end of the stamp tool but that's easy enough. I love the large base for larger projects. I was concerned about the stencil being too far away from the paper at the top, but it works just fine. I watched numerous YouTube videos for this product before purchasing. It's worth the money for me.
I purchased the unit but the layered stencils are nowhere to be found. I purchased the universal stencil tabs, but I wanted the stencils made for the tool.

This is my first stamping tool and I am in love! I've been saving up to get a stamping tool and was previously looking at the Misti but when I saw Sizzix release one with Scrapbook.com, I jumped at the chance to get one!
I'm new-ish to crafting and so far I've been using a stamp block which is horrible - I can never manage to get enough pressure to stamp evenly and the placement on my cards is always off, so as much as I love to add a sentiment, it was always a stressful experience. With the Stencil and Stamp tool I am able to get the perfect stamp every time - it's amazing! All I have to do is pull the top down and apply light pressure and the stamped image lands where I need it to go and the ink is spread evenly - I can't believe I waited this long to get a tool like this.
As for the stencils, this takes a bit of practice to get used to using the adapter (green attachment that looks like a grid). I thought the stencil converters were such a great idea so I can use the tool with my current stencils - until the Sizzix ones come out ;)
The adapter is great because it's repositionable so I can place it at whatever height I need. It also comes with a sticky grid sheet to keep things in place, which I find to be WAY more useful than using washy tape to hold my projects down as they always move. I'm glad the sticky grid sheet is not too tacky - I was worried using it because the Sizzix sticky grids can sometimes be too tacky and I saw somebody else's review mention this, but after trying it I think it's just the right amount of tacky lol!
All in all, this is a fantastic tool and I'm so happy I waited this long to get one - it's definitely worth the price!

I saw an add for the sizzix making tool while watching tv with my wife and purchased the spin tool for her in error thinking that she would be getting the whole thing we saw on the commercial. I had a disappointment christmas morning when, even though it's pictured on the box, all she had was the spin making tool and no platform. I have dyslexia and I shop by photos mostly. So if you are purchasing the very cool spinning wheel thing for your special person you need this too. ALSO there is a very easily lost clear mask in the spinning tool box that is supper important. She put stickers on hers so we don't lose it again. Wife is very happy with her gift and uses it daily.

I look forward to purchasing the stencils designed for this tool, but for now, I am loving that I can use the universal stencil converter and finally use my big collection of unused stencils 👍. The tool works great! I have yet to use the stamp positioner, but know it will be perfect to use for some of my larger background stamps. Two tools in one…I love it!

I purchased my stamping platform however just used it for the first time today. I did watch a "How To" on You Tube and the demos given were quite clear. I have not used any other braded stamping platform toward comparison purposed but have been using acrylic blocks and free handing too with ok success. The price-point of this product was in the crafting world, moderate although there are extras to purchase potentially making this a steeper investment longer term (sticky sheets, stencil adaptors). I have only used the stamping mechanism and likely will continue to do just this so for my purposes will likely be enough.

does the platform have edges or all sides flat to allow for bigger sheets of paper/cardstock?

If you want the stencils to be secured you would need to use the adaptors or punch holes in your stencils.

Will this tool work with other brands of stencil? I have a wide variety of stencils accumulated over many years and hope this tool will work with them. If an adapter is required what is the part number please. Thank you.

There is a adapter available and it says it will work with most of the stencils on the market. The SKU # is SKU sz-664957 and it says that This tool can be used with Universal Stencil Converters (sold separately) to keep your stencils in place. I found it after searching more in this category.
