If you adore insects, then you are going to love this collection of insect dies designed by Tim Holtz for Sizzix. These wafer-thin, chemically etched dies will allow you to cut and emboss all the different parts of the insects at the same time. This package contains 5 plates with all the different parts within them. These dies are designed to work with one sheet of cardstock, paper, foil, or vellum. These dies work with the BIGkick, Big Shot, and Vagabond machines (all products sold separately). The dimensions of these designs range from 2 7/8" x 2 1/4" to 5/8" x 1 1/8".
As usual, Tim Holtz never disappoints. I only ordered these after I saw examples on his You-tube video, but it is everything he said it would be. This is a different style for me, but that's great, because if i need a masculine card or something less frilly, these are the ticket. My first card was a metallic heat embossed beetle on steampunk...My adult grandson was wowed by it. Anxious to try more!
A little bigger than I thought they would be. Although they are fun to piece together. Just know that for them to really look good you will probably have to cut them 3 times for effect. Great for guy cards, journals, ect.
I love this die set. I purchased it for cardmaking, a science project, and to use on scrapbook pages. The dies cut well and are beautiful with distress cardstock or distress inks.
