This beautiful Flower Field die is designed by Tim Holtz for Sizzix. This die can be used to as a mask, silhouette, stencil, and more. This package contains 1 die which is wafer-thin, chemically etched and designed to cut, emboss, or stencil and is designed to work with the Big Shot, Vagabond, and BIGkick machines. This die is also designed to cut through one sheet of paper, cardstock, foil or vellum (all products sold separately). This die measures 4 1/2" x 4 3/4", the perfect size for a card front. There are so many possibilities with this die and you will find yourself reaching for it over and over.
This is a great die to make cards with. It cuts all as one piece without a bottom edge do you can adjust how much space you want under the image.
The Tim Holtz Flower Field die is fun to use. Tim gives great info about ways to use this die in his video.
It is going to be so versatile - in silhouette or in color. Although I've only used it once in the two weeks I've had it, it's already one of my favorites and will see a lot of use. It fills the width of an A2; so if you want a border, you'll need to trim off a tad or let the design flow past the edge. Because the design is so delicate, it requires some gentle handling, but the interlocking of the stems actually gives quite a bit of support. I was able to use liquid glue, and it held up to the extra handling just fine; I still think that next time I will put adhesive backing on the paper before cutting, though.
I am looking forward to using this die for greeting cards and for my crafts.
Love this die. So great for coloring. I love the variety of the wildflowers. They are very realistic.

...it has not cut well. I thought maybe my machine was dying, or maybe just wearing out in certain spots? Or maybe the plates needed to be replaced?
I recently bought many Tim Holtz dies by Sizzix (*no* deceptive counterfeit dies from the jungle river site). In the past couple of days, I've used this Flower Field die and one of the Colorize die sets for the first time. I'm new to the Colorize line. My Big Shot apparently does not like these dies as it took me 6-8 passes through the machine to cut the shapes out of my paper, and this is so not like Sizzix.
I passed another Sizzix die through my machine (not TH branded) and it cut absolutely perfectly on the first pass. I put other brands' dies through, and all cut well. They were typically smaller dies, and some very intricate. The only thing I could not test was a different machine other than the Sizzix Big Shot I have, and I may need to look into getting a new machine. I'll keep an eye on it. One die (or two) does not a new machine make.
Regardless, I still love my Tim Holtz branded dies from Sizzix, and some I cannot replace, now, as they were discontinued and I apparently lucked into getting one of the last ones. This die is not discontinued (to my knowledge), but I'm not going through the hassle of replacement since the problem could very likely be my 3-year-old Big Shot is at fault. I have also used many Tim Holtz branded Sizzix dies in the past and have not ever had a problem.
I *do* very much recommend the Tim Holtz branded dies from Sizzix, including this one - they are unique and fun.
