Love the Magnetic Platform! Sure wish they sold this in the package with the machine. Most crafters who are just starting don't know what they need. This is a must-have, I have the Big Shot and wanted to start cutting those beautiful thin lits with intricate designs right away! I couldn't understand why my items weren't cutting all the way and I was very discouraged. I didn't want to pick or use my craft knife to get my items out. The market is so flooded with items to purchase; and unless you research and read reviews, you won't know the platforms and cutting pads you really should use. I did my research, but that isn't to say everyone will do the research. I've read in many reviews some put their machines up. So glad I took the gamble to see how it would work and purchased mine!

In spite of obvious graphics on the platform, this user forgot to put the bottom clear plate in place before cutting. DON'T DO THAT!!! Expensive mistake on my part. Otherwise, it is a really great accessory to have. What might have helped me is if there were an orange or red "Caution" sticker with a warning to be sure to put the bottom plate in place before cutting. I hope my experience helps someone else avoid this user error!!

I have been using a lot of thinlets, framelets and other metal dies, this is worth every penny especially when its on sale.
I just put down my dies, it snaps into place and stays.
I don't have to struggle getting the tape on right or how it comes off.
There is also an extended platform as well but so far the standard size fits my needs....and budget. :0

This is an excellent and convenient accessory for the Sizzix Big Shot to be used with the wafer thin dies and sizzlits. It simply makes the sandwich that is needed to roll through the machine so very easy that there is little to it and the dies come out perfect every time! So happy that I purchased it!

I love that it holds most of my dies and when I say most, i really mean most of my dies, but then there is a huge problem with it also causing my dies to jump around. When I place my wafer thin dies down, some will stay exactly where I put them and others will jump to one side or the other. It is a huge headache. I still use my platform as I have paid for it, but it is very irritating to have to still use washi or tape to hold down a die that just wants to move to another part. I have no clue as why it does this, so far I can;t find an reason as to why it does. I still do use it. So if you don't mind the 50/50 shot of it keeping your die in place, then go ahead and use it.

Item works exactly as advertised & with the free online video classes my card stamping creativity has increased.

I highly recommend anything Sizzix, they have high quality products. This platform will be great for running through metal dies like alphabets without having them move around.

If you use wafer thin dies this platform allows for more precise cutting . You can lay your die anywhere on the card and it will stay put. Your big shot is not complete without this platform. Yes, you can stick to the bigger dies but you wont have the same flexibility and you will be greatly limiting yourself on your die choices.

I wasn't sure about purchasing this item because it is pretty pricey. After reading some of the reviews, I decided to try it. And, am I ever glad I did. It is awesome. Really holds the dues secure, even through heavy weight paper.

Can this magnetic platform be used with the Cuttlebug?

The platform is about 1/4 inch too wide, and won't go through the Cuttlebug.

I've used this on my Cuttlebug but only with the thin spellbinders and with the dies that are small enough to fit in the Cuttlebug. Some of the spellbinder dies are too large to put on the platform. I use my Sizzix HotShot for those bigger dies. Check out the internet to see which die machines the Sizzix brand recommends to use with it's products. I would not use any of the thin dies on the green Cuttlebug machine. The Anna Griffin Cuttlebug is much better made in my opinion. I hope this helps!

The Platform features high-grade magnets that will hold Thinlits, Framelits, another chemically-etched, wafer-thin dies securely in place while you're cutting.

Absolutely:) this Platform can be used with the Magic Mat. The Magic Mat will replace 'one' of the cutting pads included in your sandwich combination used for the particular Die set you are working with.

Button magnets. It’s annoying. I feel it’s a waste of money. And if I want to use my embossing folders, I need to switch back to the original platform to make them fit.
