Grand Falls on Shoal Creek

Joplin, Missouri. These are 25 foot falls that tumble over a chert ledge. This chert is also the base rock found in the area's lead and zinc mines from the 1800s. The upper falls are man-made to create a reservoir for the town's water supply. Grand falls is Missouri's largest continually flowing waterfall.
