Old Magazines

cut out anything I might want to scraplift and paste them in a note book and trash! I only keep the current years. Allows for more room for paper and cardstock lol!

I only keep mine for a week and then leave them at my local gym or take them straight to my local library.

Just a hint for the ones you DO decide to keep - store them by month rather than by name. For example, all your Jan/Feb issues together, Nov/Dec issues together, etc. That way if you are looking for Christmas ideas, just grab your stack of Nov/Dec issues; Easter ideas, just grab your stack of April/May issues.

I keep mine. alllll mine. They are great for inspiration when you're stuck. I have mags going back to like 2003.

I just pull them out and store them in 3 ring binders. I did notice when I got back to early 2007 and before the LO's and techniques where really out dated, so those mags got recycled!!

i pull out what i like and keep in binders too. but i give my old ones when i am through to schools...teachers love having mags for different projects. i work in a special ed classroom, and we use alot for teaching nouns...have them cut out different nouns, and glue on paper by whether the pic is a person, place or thing. if you don't have children in school, ask your local school and i am sure that they will want them. my mother saved every mag she ever had... i have ones from the month and year i was born, my dh and both my dd. i took them to my school and teachers were almost fighting over them! it's alot better than just throwing them away. at least they get a little more use first.

I too pull out the ideas I like and file in two idea books, then recycle the rest.

I'd ask my local art teacher if she needed them for student collage work. I don't get into scrap magazines.

I cut out the images/articles that I like. Seperate them in baggies by 2 page LO, single page LO, and cards/altered art ideas and recycle the rest.

I donate to thrift shops and sell the more expensive ones to second hand book stores. It's only a few cents but it helps.

I keep them in vertical magazine keepers.

I have never bought too many scrapbooking magazines, , in the past. I did buy a few at a yard sale to donate to an assisted living center and have enjoyed looking thru them. With magazines in general, I donate most of the old ones when they start to pile up. They are great for scavenger hunts for people with mobility challenges.

I normally hold onto a years worth at a time. When the year is up I put them on in recycling.

I give them to friends or recycle them. I sold some at yard sales.

I hold on to mine for a while.

Like Tina ... I finally went through and pulled out ideas I wanted and put in a notebook, then recycled the rest of the magazine. I only have one 1" binder, but it's bulging. I don't get any magazine anymore.

It was liberating to do it; and freed up a lot of space!

I cut out the images and articles that I want and tape them into a notebook, so I can go through it for inspiration later (ok, I'm on my 4th or so notebook)

I freecycle mine.

What does everyone do with their old magazines??? I have some from way back in 2006. What do you all do with yours??
