Making Memories trimmer screeches

RE: GMFTS: Mine screeches too and I don't have an answer. I hope someone does. I wonder if graphite would help?

When I called customer service, they suggested a dab of mineral oil. However, they warned me that it could damage paper that I cut with the trimmer, and it would void the product warranty.

RE: Luvmyfam: I contacted MM when I had that problem. They helped me troubleshoot the issue and eventually replaced the trimmer. The screech was horrid! Unfortunately, the replacement quickly developed the screech, too, so I am done with those trimmers.

I believe Colobok bought Making Memories some time ago, and I've had the 12" x 12" Precision Paper Trimmer for some time. I purchased it because it has the self sharpening blade.

It still cuts perfectly, but when moving the blade in one direction, it screeches horribly. Any ideas on how to fix that?

If it wasn't cutting right, I'd give it up. It's just hard on the ears. I LOVE this trimmer, and it's the best one I've ever used. I'd appreciate any thoughts!
