where do find a good buy on ink cartridges??

I buy my ink from Staples.com. They offer free shipping over $50. The prices are the same as in store (which is 25 min. away from me) but I save time and gas by having it sent to my house. I usually have my ink within a day or two of ordering.

I used refilled cartridges with my old HP printer. I found they don't last as long, plus I found out it could ruin my printer and void my warranty. Nowadays I only buy brand new Canon ink cartridges.

I went to Staples and they told me they send out refund checks if u sign up for their rewards program. They do not credit you any longer for ink cartridges.
I ended up going to Officemax and they do give u $3 credit for each cartridge(only 5). I was fine with getting a $15 discount towards the two cartridges I bought!! Does anyone know how officedepot works??

have you checked walgreens? i've heard they refill your carts. for cheap.

Personally I think it all depends on a lot of things. Like how familiar you are with refilling cartridges and even your type of printer. When I sold computers, peripherals, and accessories for Computer City and later Office Max, I found out some interesting bits of information.

All printers come with a one-year manufacturers' warranty, and of course you can buy an extended warranty. However, printers are almost disposable nowadays, almost cheaper to buy a new printer than to buy ink for some of them. Lexmark is a good example: their printers print beautifully, and on everything from vellum to tortillas. (Really. I saw it. Naturally, you couldn't eat it.) But their black and color carts cost around $80 and for less than that you can get a new printer. That being said, I learned that if you use a generic or no-name ink (like from 123 Inkjets) you will void your warranty. Which means should anything go wrong with the printer because of the ink you're using, you're out of luck. I would read the fine print of the one-year warranties or contact the manufacturer to be sure.

I used 123 Inkjets AFTER my one-year-warranty through Canon had already expired. Honestly, the ink wasn't as vibrant and the same quality as Canon's. And I was using Canon paper, too. Call it OCD, but I match the paper up to my printer. (Canon paper for Canon printer; HP paper for HP printer, etc.) On the plus side, 123 Inkjets' Canon ink (at least for Pixma iP1500) is VERY cheap. $3 for a black cart, $6 for a color, or a value pack of 3 black and 2 color for $15. That is how I bought mine, in a value pack.

My printer is an HP Photosmart C6280 that takes SIX different ink tanks. It is cheaper to buy the "02" ink multipack for $35 than it is to buy each ink separately. The multipack comes with all 6 tanks AND 100 sheets of 4x6 photo paper. (HP prints on HP papers are stunning and definitely scrap-worthy.) I checked their site for ink for my HP. They do have it, and it's true HP, but it's cheaper to just go down the street to Best Buy and get it rather than pay shipping.

I buy mine from 123 inkjets. I have a Lexmark printer and I buy the double or super cartridges. I can't remember what they are called, but they last forever. I have used refills and they are ok. They worked ok for me.

It's messy. The refills leak, which is bad because the refill bottles hold more ink than an ink cartridge does.

Staples has changed their recycling cartridge policy. Gone are the Coupons .
Now they credit your Staples reward acct. I am not sure exactly what that does for me and the store didn't understand their new policy either.

Watch out for the HP bonus packs with paper. The amount of ink in the cartridges in these bonus packs with paper is less then the amount of ink when you buy the cartridge separately.

I have seen HP ink cartridges sold in 6-pks of each color on e-bay. But I have never bought them so I can't vouch for them.

and you can buy kits where you refill your cartridge with ink but I have never done it so I can't vouch for it.

My cartridges are usually $20 when bought separately at Office Max.

Staples offers $3 rebates on old cartridges also. I often find good deals on multi-packs. Plus with the Staples rewards card you earn money back each quarter on paper and ink purchases....every little bit helps

I buy all my cartridge at Office Depot, you get a $3 credit for each used cartridge that you bring back in. My last $10 cartridge cost me $1. Sometimes I just save up my old ones and return a few all at once. Its nice when you are short on money and need some ink!

Just to let you know that when you buy the HP pack for $39 each cartridge has less ink in it than if you bought each one separately. I used to buy the packs until one of the clerks told me what I was buying. I don't run out of ink so fast now that I buy them separately.

I've used Liz's site too, and it worked good. The only downside is that it doesn't give you the information on if you're low. But it's cheaper!!!

I think it's a wash either way. I've found great prices on ink at 123 inkjet (google it) or Simply Inks. good luck!

HI! I PRINT A LOT, PICTURES, ETC. I HAVE AN HP PRINTER AND I GET ALL THE INK AT BEST BUY. THEY HAVE A PACKAGED DEAL WHERE YOU GET ALL THE INK WITH PHOTO PAPER FOR $39.00.....I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO FIND CHEAPER. HOPE THAT HELPS.....

Is it better to buy new ink cartridges or just get refills and where is the best prices??
