I think the 500 is worse for excess adhesive than the 250. I have a "glue eraser" that I rub over the excess to pick it up. It's best to remove the extra while the new sticker is still on the backing - unlike last night when I decided to do it after I added it to my page. Now I have smudges on my photo.

(Also, you can use it to remove misplaced rub-ons from paper.) I see Michelle (above) has already recommended it. And the best news is that they are not very pricey at all.

That gets rid of all the glue goopies for me -but on the rare case of them I use the EK sucess adhesive remover I pictured below. Its the only one I like - there is a square one that I have and I find that the adhesive sticks to it when you remove it from your item and the next time I go to use it - the square one leaves a smudge - I've tried to cut off the old stuff and it doesn't work as well as this little green one.

It's so much easier for me than gluing things down though since I'm not quite coordinated enough for that kind of glue! I end up with far more sticky spots when I use a glue stick.

I rub it with my fingers, and if that doesn't get it all, I will wet a q-tip with Un-Du adhesive remover and go around the edges. That will get most of it.

I take a pencil eraser and rub over the clear plastic before I remove it. You can do it with your fingers, but I feel like the eraser gets into smaller areas than my fingers could.

Anyone have any tricks to getting rid of the unwanted stickiness? Thanks so much!

I heard that if you sprinkle powder on it, it makes it non sticky..

Before you pull the clear plastic off, gently rub around and over all the letters/shapes, this helps eliminate a lot of the excess adhesive. If there is still some adhesive left after you pull off the clear plastic then I just rub it off with my finger like the post above.
