8 x 10" pictures... layout ideas?

Hello,
I take my son every month to get his picture taken. A tradition I started with my first son. Anyway I'm running out of ideas on how to layout the page with an 8 x 10 picture for obvious reasons. Anyone have any creative ideas on how to change it up? I prefer not to cut up the pictures.

8x10's are so hard for me. I've done albums with my daughter's annual photos growing up but for me they were the hardest pages I've ever done.

I like doing 8x10s. I did an album of elementary school portraits for each of my kids - most of them were 8x10s. A few of those LOs are posted in my gallery if you want to check them out (in the Elementary School album).

I'm doing the same thing right now..going through years of my kids professional "photo studio" 8 x 10's (took them out of the frames so I can scrap them). They are challenging because there's not alot of space around them to add embellies, etc. I also try not to cut the 8 x 10 down too much (a few I had done that just slightly, but most of them I keep as is). Here's one I did that I cut down an inch or so only because there was a lot of extra space on the photo to do as there was no other background other than just "blue".

I just did another one which I'll post later today that I didn't cut down at all. It took me forever to figure out how to fill up that little bit of space around the photo.

here's an idea that I came up with...I did trim the pic a little bit for room for matting...

I like Michelle idea with the overlays I use the CM very large oval its the purple colored one, the one you can only get it after attending 25 meetings I think thats how it was, but it put your 8 x 10 into a oval with perfect mating. I got me from somewhere I didn't attend the meetings I wanted it right away I have no pateince.it does a beautiful job especially on professional photos.

I don't have any regular photos blown up that size but I am scrapping a lot of the 8x10 portraits we have around here in my 12 x 15 size album. I love these big layouts...kind of a challenge since there are no 12x15 pps available...(actually it's more like 11 1/2 by 15.)These are the only two I have posted so far but I do have several in my album.
