project complete...How temporary is temporary adhesive?

My mom wants to make a poster board of pictures for a family reunion this weekend and asked me what she should use. I told her I'd think on it because I'm used to wanting the best adhesive to make sure my things stay put in the scrapbook.

So...what would you use? How temporary is the temporary adhesive? We want to be able to remove the pics and put back in books or give back to pic owner.

I would just use photo corners, it seems that the temporary becomres permanant over time and you don't want to damage the photos trying to get them out

I've had some temp adhesive turn perm pretty quickly.

Can they be scanned and printed?

I vote for reprinting and then you don't have to worry about it.

Or you could use clips on it and then just unclip them!!!

I would love to reprint but I don't have the time to scan and to walk my mom through how to scan and save...easier to do it myself...but lack of time.

Photo corners could work...the clips would be interesting too. Options may be limited.

what about using a memory board where you just stick the pics behind a ribbon to hold it in place?

OTOH, the temporary adhesive I have is TOO temporary, things move or fall off before I want them too!

I LOVE the ribbon board idea!

I would say temporary adhesive wouldn't hold things in place vertically. It's only to stop stuff from moving around while you're rearranging it on a page.

I'd go with a ribbon board or clips. Or even blu-tack - that won't damage the photos in just a few hours.

Well guess who is now putting the board together? My mom decided since I have all of the scrapbooking tools and an "eye" for those kind of things, I should do it. Yay me!

I picked up the pictures and board from her last night and will work on it tonight. I'm thinking I'm going to use black photo corners since I have those already but I did make a ribbon board 12x12 page for a scrapbook once so maybe I use that idea too. Didn't want to have to buy anything so I'll use my stash, especially for those really old pics that come secured in the cardboard frames - my mom didn't really want to take the pics out of those.

Sidenote story: I am the fourth generation to own the house I live in and it was all passed down on the maternal side of the family. Well this family reunion is that side of the family, my great aunts and uncles and their kids etc. So I brought home a pic and it has my great grandparents and great grandma and her siblings on it. My DS is now freaked out because those are the "ghosts" in our house...he's been watching Ghost Adventures too much I guess.

Final project. Was in a time crunch, wish I could have done more but my mom is happy with it. That's all that counts.
