Blank Chip/Cardboard cutouts

OK, this may be a silly question to you veterans out there - but I bought a chipboard assortment - it's of all the seasons - well, after the first few boards, there's like 6 blank ones ...
What the heck do i do with those? Do I cover them/decorate them myself? THey're cardboard color - if I were to color them, it would look aweful. I don't have the patience to cut out paper to fit these cutouts...please help! LOL
AND, you pay good money for stuff, why do they give it to you blank? LOL

to clarify, they are cut out into shapes, just bland, cardboard/chipboard color

I love blank chipboard, it is so much fun to personalize. Here is my latest one using it. The arrow & stars were all blank chipboard. The blue is T.H. distress crackle paint with distress ink over top (faded jeans), and the brown is inked with staz-on timber brown. Stickles is also a great way to decorate it. You can use different colors and do stripes and polka dots...the options are endless and with all the paint & ink color choices, the pieces will always match your lo

I'm guilty of using them as stencils on CS and cutting it out.

You can cover them with PP. or try glimmer mist or even stickles. OMG!!! there are many different and unique things you can do with plain chipboard.

Well... first of all, there are no silly questions here at Scrapbook.com.

Second of all, the sky is the limit. They might actually be really cute plain if you just ink them, maybe spritz some Tattered Angels on them. You could even outline them with some Stickles. Maybe just experiment on a couple. You never know, you could fall in love with plain chipboard.

No, it won't look awful if you color the chipboard (depending on what you use to color it).

There is a thread here (I can't find it now) with tips on things to do with naked chipboard.

I like to heat emboss mine.

You can paint with acrylic paints.
Color with ink
Cover with paper and ink the edges (or not)

I almost prefer the naked chipboard, so I can customize it to my layout!

I knew it was silly - I just couldn't wrap my head around why it would be blank LOL
I guess it's because I don't have a lot of time, like I used to, to do anything I didn't think of what COULD be done with them - I was looking for the "quick" way out LOL

I'll now have to look through them all again and have ideas pop in my head

You've gotten great ideas so far! Earlier today, I had a thought to apply rub-ons to my bare chipboard. Haven't done it yet, but it's another idea for you....

Maybe poke out a couple holes and sew them onto your LO like buttons?

Great video.

One suggestion though...
I would NEVER use glue stick in my scrapbook, and definitely NOT for glitter!
The adhesive tends to fail (quickly), and I wouldn't want glitter all over.

Hi ya I am new on here but I have bought some of them as i think they would be great colour corodinating them with the page you are actually using at that time rather then think oh my god what am i going to use , the opportunity is more of a wider option with them, I can wait to use them when they arrive,

I inked with pigment ink & heat embossed 3 layers on this chipboard..... I wanted a mottled color..... for more intense color just ink more...

There are some great tips given on this thread for plain chipboard. THANKS!!! I myself was looking for different ways to use plain chipboard. I had tried inking them once and didn't like how it looked and sometimes don't have the patience to cut our PP to cover it. LOL.
