Cricut won't open

I am wondering if anyone has had this happen. I went to use my cricut the other day, hit the power button and the "doors" wouldn't open. It turned on but I had to pry the wings open in order to use. I know everyone is going to say - call PC - well I did but I was on hold for over 4 hours before I gave up last night. They close fine but I have to like I said pry them open - any one ever encounter this before?

I never turn on the power before opening doors. I wonder if the housing had something to do with it???

I have an expression and can't turn on the power without the doors open.....am I missing something here?

the baby bug opens when you hit the power button and yes I have had the trouble before. Sometimes mine sticks and doesn't open all the way. It did release it enough that I wasn't "prying" it open. I just find that if I don't press the power button all the way down it doesn't open properly. You could have a broken mechanism in there and that would require servicing.....I say, upgrade to a new model....I kept waiting for mine to break so I could justify getting an E2 but I just ran into an AMAZING deal that allowed me to buy one for a fraction of the cost! Can't wait for it come!!!!

LOL...Surescrapsalot - I like the way you think! I wish I could upgrade right now, but it's not in the cards - we are in the process of moving - maybe a xmas present this year

My first baby bug did that sometimes. Turns out one of the spokes on the wheel opening mechanism was broken. It only happened when it got to that area of the wheel. I just turned it on and off a few times while gently pulling on the doors.
