Which 12x12 holds most pages?

Hi. I am looking for 12x12 albums and I know people love CM or Colorbok . I was wondering if anyone knew what 12x12 album (from any high quality company) holds the most pages. I have probably 500+ pictures from a 4-6 year period of time to scrapbook and I know I'm going to need albums that hold a lot of pages!!! I still have to weed through my pics and decide which to use on the pages, but I dont think a 40 sheet (80 page) album will be enough. What do you guys recommend??? Please let me know. I love 3 ring album types...they seem to hold so much more and are easy to rearrange if the mood strikes ya....I prefer Leaving Prints new ones...they are very roomy and and have a frame on the front and are so soft!!!

I love Close to My Heart post albums! They are really high quality linen or leather, plus they are adding new embossed albums. I've found these great things to replace the posts, they are called snap n load, makes it really easy to add pages and move them around. I can't ever figure out how to get the hinge albums together....The snap n loads you can get at Micheals and if you need a CTMH rep, I can help ya out there.

I don't think there's really any right or wrong answer to that one; only because it depends on how you scrap. If you are a lumpy 3-D scrapper, then, no matter what company you choose, the number of pages you insert into your album will be limited by how thick/lumpy your pages are.

I do know that CM albums can hold up to 45 sheets or 90 pages (front and back) that are non-lumpy and just flat scrapped pictures. That is a TON of pictures! lol I took almost 800 prints from the time I had my baby shower to the time I gave birth ... and I scrapped about 5-7 pictures per 2 page layout and was able to fit all of my photos into one album. Remember though that this was NON-LUMPY sb pages ... my Lumpy pages I only fit about 30 sheets/60 pages (front and back) per album.

I personally do not like 3-ring binder style because i found that it's very hard on the "holes" of your page protectors and tears them easily. I would definitely recommend the strap hinge from CM or the post bound depending on your preferences. hth!

I have only used the post bound type, but have found out they are not all created equal. The spine (the part that covers the end of the book) can be a thin piece of fabric w/ holes punched in it or a thick, stiff piece reinforced by cardboard or something hard that slips into the ends. My cats have torn the thin spines, and I am now replacing the albums with ones that have more sturdy spine covers. Westrim makes one that I like that is cloth, post bound (you can replace the posts with the snapload retrofit kit from Pioneer), and has a sturdy slip-in spine cover (not hole punched). I've put 40 page protectors (80 pages) with some "lumpiness" in them but wouldn't recommend any more than that. We'll see if they hold up under the kitties! I have never used the strap-hinge kind, but the CM ones seem to be just like the Westrim strap-hinge ones.

I prefer the Close To My Heart post bound albums too. I was a die-hard CM fan until I realized that you can expand the CTMH post bound albums to a complete four inches. That is HUGE! They also have the nice bookshelf spine covers on them.

One other advantage is that the 12x12 page protectors are true 12x12. No trimming needed.

I believe CM are the best albums of choice and they do hold a lot of pictures. Up to 40 pages and if you crop you can fit more pictures on a page with journaling. Binders will not hold up over the years...I am speaking from experience. with binders just sitting on a shelf, they have deteriorated. My first CM album is 10 years old and still looks like new..and is viewed frequently. I say this not because I am a CMC..I am a CMC because of the quality of their products. I have 3 children and 4 grandchildren..Again, I speak from experience and from my heart!

I do love my CM albums... The way I picked them was to search for album quality threads and product reviews on a bunch of different scrapbooking websites and count all the votes (lots of work!), and CM won. So, CM it is.
The manufacturer says 40 pages (i.e. 80 LOs), but my CMC uses more in hers - probably up to 60, her albums are almost 4" thick, and they're fine (they get lots of use, too, since we all look through them for inspiration during crops). Plus, CM will replace your album if it breaks.

Another album I recently looked at that seemed like a good idea was Scrapworks BayBox - they're three-ring binders, but the cool feature is that they're actually boxes, i.e. they don't just have a front cover, back cover and spine, but all the sides are actually closed. Feels a lot safer to me. I'm not sure how many pages they hold though.

I bought the Scrapworks album....they used to be called something else though. I think just the Scrapworks album and not baybox.

I hate hate hate the page protectors !!!!!! I love the album (but it is EXTREMELY heavy even without the layouts in it!) ... but I hate the page protectors !!

The page protectors are just too darn big! I put my layout in it; and there is at least a 1/2" gap between my layout and the edge of the protector. So when you turn the page, the layout slids out. ARGGHHH!!

I've actually been using my album to store my paper in when I go anywhere. lol
