Favorite Goodie Bag at retreats

I'm working on some gift bags for a retreat I'm hosting and would love to hear your favorite things you have gotten in your check in goodie bags

We have scrappers, cardmakers and quilters

I like getting bling and maybe pretty stickers. Also, some special candy is aways nice..chocolate covered cherries, fancy granola bars.

Thank-You Donna I love the fancy granola bars idea and we always have to have chocolate.

I would say an adhesive like a zig pen if you can swing it, or glue dots, some bling or stickles, neat buttons or lace....and candy.

Encourage the ladies to trade amongst themselves if they want. One thing that was really neat was to have a free table for unwanted, gently used scrap items and a sale table, reasonably priced extras.......it was neat to see how someone used something of mine I didn't use or couldn't think how to incorporate.

How wonderful! I think anything you can provide is appreciated. Some of my favorites have been samples of adhesive (a small pkg of Glue Dots or a runner), ribbon, buttons, stickers, journaling pen. Some chocolate is always welcome! I think personalized reusable containers also add a nice touch. At one class, it was a round container wrapped in pretty pattern paper with a "chalkboard" label with our name lettered on it. So cute! I used it to hold my scissors and pens during the class to keep things out of the way.

We tried the exchange table and ran into issues with a few taking almost all and leaving nothing. I decided it wasn't worth the stress and axed it for all future events and have not invited the ones involved back.

I haven't done the goodie bags before but thought it would be fun and none have gone to any big events. We just rent a hotel meeting room and spread out. We have gotten lucky with a new hotel in town a huge room and we get to bring in our own food

I have never gotten a goodie bag at my scrap weekends.

But, if I did I would say like a mini box or small bag of candy, buttons, brads, small clips of different ribbon.

you ladies have been wonderful and I will be making up my baskets tonight. I found a lot of fun things in the dollar section of Michael's on sale ranging in price from 15cents to $1.

Talked with my fellow direct sales friends and got Spark, Avon and Stampin UP!

That is super cool and a neat idea. I wonder if I could talk to my scrap friends to see if we could start doing this for our weekends and have a few of us split the cost of it.

I hadn't done it before but now that I like them I'm going to start watching sales at Michael's, Target, Hobby Lobby and Wal-Mart I know we can only put 15 in our room so it won't be so hard to stock up

No it wouldn't be and if you put a limit on how much you spend.

I know JoAnn's has some really cute 1.00 stuff near the washi tape (at my JoAnn's) there is cute 1.00 washi tape that comes in a two pack, gems and other misc fun cute stuff. They just had their Daisy Dash Sale. 10 sheets of paper for 2.00 I stocked UP and got 130 sheets of paper.

Walmarts near me the scrap section is not the greatest. Some still carry cricut stuff and others don't.

Target ahh what a shame they us to have such a amazing scrap section with lots of paper, stickers and tools. Now well it is super small and don't have a whole lot now. I don't usually go get scrap stuff there anymore. Usually in the dollar section has some scrap stuff, lotions and chocolate or sometimes other candy.

Michael's I don't shop at a whole lot as I do JoAnn's but they do have a great paper and brad section though that I like getting stuff there.

Now, Hobby Lobby that is a store one can get in trouble at since they have such a great section and the pricing is really great pricing.

Tuesday Morning has a very small section but super great prices. I get flowers in a jar for 1.99 (normally 9.00)and comes with 50 plus pieces and buttons in a cup for 2.99 (normally 10.00). So if you have a Tuesday Morning in your area check them out.

Sometimes you can score stuff at TJ Max you just got to look for it.

DORM DOOR NAME TAG: Roommates names placed on dorm room door. If retreat is themed-make “name tags” to match. After the retreat these can go in a scrapbook to remember the retreat. Hang on doors with Blue painters tape. Ex. theme is hollywood...get paper stars and place the retreaters name on a star and then tape all roommates stars to door.
