So angry with Cricut right now

Hubs got me 9 brand new carts for my machine, i got them today, tried to link them and 5 out of the 9 would not link...

I call Cricut and it takes 22m48s to get a human even on the phone, and she tells me "I'll put a request in to get them linked, it will take at least 24 hrs".

Ooh, sounds bad.
Why could she not help you out right then?

I got a new cartridge today -- "Everyday Fonts" -- which would not link with my Gypsy. Message came up instructing me to update the Gypsy before it can be linked.

I ran my CricutSync software but there was no update available. The last update I had was last September and it doesn't look like they bothered with anything more recent.

I sent an email to cricut asking when the next update to the software will be released, or how I can link the Gypsy now.

Which cartridges did you get that won't link? When was the last time you tried updating your CricutSync software?

I called the cricut customer service yesterday, had to wait on hold for nearly half an hour. They told me the CricutSync software for the Gypsy should be updated in about a month.

I was on hold today for 45 mins.
All for reward points that wouldn't register. I kept thinking, I don't know why I'm bothering, it's not like they're ever going to add anything new to the program!
Oh well, I keep pluggin them in, just in case!

What are you trying to link them to Sarah? A Gypsy or Design Studio or Cricut Craftroom?

I bought a Gypsy several years ago - used it twice and its out in the garage somewhere hopefully to never be seen again. There are no words for how much I hated that thing!

When I asked about it I was told it was discontinued and they were slowly discontinuing all updates and support for it.

They still have the Craftroom and I love it but I need to look at the new design program they offer and see how it compares with Craftroom because I have a feeling Craftroom will be discontinued. They haven't said that but I expect it will be. It even gotten hard to find on the website.

You just didn't say what you were linking and I was curious.

It's been nearly 2 months since I got that cartridge. Tried the Sync software again but it still hadn't been updated. Sent an email to [email protected] for the second time in 2 weeks. Still waiting for a response.

I told them I have over 200 cartridges, all linked to the Gypsy, and would not buy any more new ones until they update the Sync software.

Note: The new boxes don't have reward coupons, but I recently bought some of the older ones and was able to enter the rewards points. However, there's really very little worthwhile listed in the rewards. I also register each of my carts, though it's very tricky trying to find the site for registering products.

Suggest you all send your complaints to the support email. Maybe they'll listen if enough people complain.

I just called customer support and was put on hold for 20 minutes, but finally spoke to someone. She told me the Gypsy was still being supported, but was put on hold because of the new cricut explore stuff taking priority at this time. She assured me that I would get an email as soon as the update was available.

I am so frustrated with the rewards program. I have emailed them twice in the last year asking them to put some 1,000 point cartridges on their site. They have only had the 3,000 ones for almost a year. The email they sent back was "to check often." I wrote in my email that I check almost daily. I think they are just trying to get people to use their points on a service and not a product. Silhouette is so much easier to deal with.

Nancy, I think you're right, they want people to buy into their "Circle"- which I did to get my last cart. But I haven't gone back and plugged in my registration number that they sent me to belong to the "Circle".( it's another process- it just can't be simple, ya know) - but I have no interest in the circle, just wanted the free cart! Figured I'd spend some points before the reward program goes away. At least I got free shipping because of the "Circle"!!

I've mentioned before, I don't see why they at least won't
digitally open up a bunch of carts to the reward program, seems that would be better than nothing!

I have close to 5,000 points in rewards and nothing good to redeem on. I have a lot of carts that wont link to my gypsy.............I am NOT buying an explore. I am happy they came out with it but I don't want to be on a computer, so continue to use my Expression(s) love that machine. I have over 225 carts so feel I am a loyal customer........................but want to be able to upload all to my gypsy.

Don't waste your time going in to register your number. I got the same "deal" when I used points to buy the chalkboard fonts cartridge. I registered my circle number, and never heard a thing from them. No free cartridge, nothing. That's the last time I mess with entering numbers, and I certainly wouldn't PAY to join circle. Good luck! (And I have over 200 cartridges as well.)

Darla, I got my cart that same week.
But if I remember rightly, there was quite the process to get it, it just so happened that I was on the phone with PC for something ( oh, reward points that wouldn't enter in, even tho they were valid) and the lady was very nice and said, here, let me just set it all up for you ( to get my cart) because like I said, it was a process. Wait for email, take this code, go here, enter there.....etc.
but then she said I would get another email with the code for the circle memberships and then I needed to go back and enter this, that to the other... I didn't want the circle, just the cart. So I've yet to follow thru on that.

Anyway, if you call them, I am sure they will look it up and help you at least get to the point were your free cart will get to you.
It sounds like you've invested a lot of money in PC,
Get what you have coming to you!!! They owe you that cart.

I emailed Cricut again. I asked if points would be available for the digital selection. I asked if the rewards program was going away. I said that they haven't had cartridges on their site for months and months and I check daily. Here was the response.

Nancy, this is the type of stuff that gives PC a bad name. I wish they'd stop and just give honest answers.
I can't imagine why it would take so long to update/add to the reward program. Seems like something fairly easy to do. Especially when you know you have a lot of angry customers inquiring about it. And with all the social media, they have to know we all share our stories.
But, on the other hand....we all keep buying their products, so maybe it hasn't hit them where it hurts, yet?
I just bought 4 new carts, last month I bought 4 carts and the month or so before I bought the Explore.
I've read many times where some have 100% given up and got rid of any/all Cricut stuff- for me, I just can't do it.

I have tons of reward points sitting there. Nothing I want/need. I haven't bought at cartridge in 3 years! I was fortunate enough to have SCAL before it became illegal. I refuse to update my machine and gypsy. If do that, I won't be able to use my beloved SCAL! I don't know the last time I used a cartridge. I mostly just use the computer.

Clearly in my email I stated that I check daily. The response was to check back periodically. They just don't read what we write or they are so busy answering these emails they don't read them.

I think it's just more of a standard letter/comment meant to pacify us.

They'd be shooting themselves in the foot if they discontinued Craftroom, unless they make the new software Mac compatible.

You used to find Craft room at the top of the page when you went to the Cricut website. Now I don't know how to find it.

I tried to tell a friend about it and explain how to go to Craft room. When I tried to walk her through it I could not find it!

Finally I went to Dogpile (I like that much much better than google) and typed in Cricut Craft Room and it came up near the top of the list. I click on it and it took me right to the page where you download it.

I have it saved on my computer on my start screen but that doesn't help someone looking for it the first time and trying to download. I had to find it so they could access the download.

Not a good sign when you can't even find it on the Cricut website.

Now the big software on the front page is the online software that goes with the Explore.
