Plastic protectors for greeting cards?

Hey there!

I've been making greeting cards for a while and I really would like to get some plastic protectors to store them in. I saw one lady at a crop had these nice plastic covers that were just like dust covers for a book.

They went over both ends of the cards, so the front and back were totally covered and you could still open the card and see the inside. I've been looking up search terms and checking local craft stores but I can't find any! I keep finding clear plastic sleeves where you can see the front and back of the card, but you can't see the inside without removing it from the sleeve, which defeats the whole point.

Please let me know where I can find these plastic protectors or even what the correct term to search for them would be.

If anyone has any answers, I have another question: if you display cards in the sleeves, do you take them off if someone buys the card or does the buyer get the card and the protective sleeve?

I was thinking about whether the plastic covers go with the cards or not. I think it depends on the price. If the plastic covers are a few cents each, then yes, why not? But if they're $2-3 each, then heck no. Not unless you up the price of the card or the person you're giving it to is reeeeeeeeeeeeally special.

Paper Accents makes them! They have 5.5x8.5" and a smaller size as well. For the larger size, they are 10 for less than $2, so less than 20cents per card.

lstory, when I use the protective sleeves, I sell them with the sleeves on. It helps embellished cards not to get snagged or messed up and it really makes them look polished too.

And 20 cents each is a great deal. I was worried that they were going to be hideously expensive.

I get my card sleeves at clearbags.com. I like theirs because they fit the card and the envelope. I was planning on removing the sleeve when someone purchased it, but I find it easier and more professional to leave it on. I ordered 250, which came out to about 6 cents each, including shipping. They have all different sizes to chose from.
