What to do with unused scrapbook supplies?

Hi Ladies! This may be a silly question but... I have a lot of unused and brand new scrap supplies that I don't use; mostly because I started to scrap in 2004 for a few months and then took a 6 year "leave of absence". My taste and style has changed so much that I found myself with a lot of supplies I know I will not use and have no idea what to do with them. I'm kind of new here at SB.com and was wondering if there is any "system" (for lack of a better word) or way to give those unused supplies to those who may need or want them. If not, any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

I do'nt know if there's a system on here, but I've donated some of my own supplies locally. to places like the YMCA for the kids programs, to girls programs in the state system, etc.

I haven't done this but I hear lots of teachers would be glad to have them to use for crafts in their classes.

another option is to get involved in swaps of supplies and use them that way,,,,

my friend hosts a card swap,,,every month there's a new theme and we send our buddy what we have in our "stash" that fits the theme,,,,,paper, cs, ribbons, embellies, etc,,,,,,and they send YOU a kit!

what's old and uniteresting to you, might find fresh eyes with another scrapper

If you want to donate anything timetraveller is taking donations. Her sister was diagnosed with cancer and they are making albums for her three children.

Also local churches could probably really use them for their kids programs too.

I always donate mine to my kids school they can always use the supplies in the classrooms especially with all the cutbacks

Thank you ladies for your help. I have already donated two boxes full of supplies to my children's school, but I have a lot of embellishments that they couldn't use. I will donate them elsewhere. Thanks again!

the daughter of one of my best friends (who lives far away) decided she wanted to get into scrapbooking - so I sent her a huge box of all the stuff I had outgrown and was never going to use. she was thrilled and I was happy to get it out of my stash and make room for new stuff

you could also check out the classified section on scrapjazz dot com if you wanted to try selling some things...

I have received three boxes of scrappy things from ladies who post here. There are some of us who live on a very low fixed income budget and can use anything others are willing to donate. I for one don't care if the items are several years old as I just started scrapbooking and can and will use what is sent me. If I get something I know or think I can't or won't use I pack it up and send it on to someone else in the hopes they can use it.
