Martha Stewart punches discontinued?

At Michael's, all the Martha Stewart punches are on clearance and they won't be getting any more. Does this mean that the line was discontinued and there won't be any more new punches?

The Michaels near me seemed to be clearing out all their Martha Stewart stuff a few months ago, which was how I got a heat tool for $12. Haven't been back since to see what they've done with area, don't know whether it got replaced with something else or just with completely different Martha Stewart stuff.

But it might just be Michaels - when I was at Joanns last month, all their Martha stuff was still full price.

I think it's just Michael's making this choice. I'm sure Martha Stewart is alive and well...

I was just on Michaels website for in my area and they have marked all Martha Stewart punches down from $12.99 now to $3 something.

To tell you the truth it is very strange. I love her punches and that's where I usually buy them at.

I read an article that Martha Stewart is no longer making any products for papercrafting. I'll see if I can find it and share it here.

It seems to me that Michael's is stocking more and more of their own brand of scrappy supplies and fewer of other brands. Just my observation.

I am in Michaels twice a month and I agree.., they are stocking much more of their Recollections brand. But I found some really cute things today. But of course, I spend 90% of my scrap budget here because everything is so awesome.

I like MS punches, but it wouldn't surprise me to see them come to an end. How many more designs can they come up with?!!
And yes, I think soon M's will be nothing but recollections.

No more MS Paper crafting because a majority of the papercrafting world resented her because she never did her own work in that field. MS barely sold in the papercrafting market for Michael's. It was over priced for what it was.

He's right. Most of mine have never been used. I need to work on using what I have.

Well Heidi Swapp has two different lines going into both JoAnne's and Michael's. She has the Lightbox Line going to J's and her new mixed media going to M's.

I love my MS punches! I have about 20. That's enough.

I agree Donna. I have so many I have never used. And then I have favorites that I use over and over.

Here in Alaska, MS punches are all gone at M's. I'm depressed. What the heck I'm I going to go now??? I can't make a LO without at least one!!!

I'll be sad if I can't get any more MS punches. I love the edge punches and punch around the page - I use them a lot! I might need to get to Michaels this week and see if I can pick up a few on clearance.

You can always find them on ebay. I got a lot of them that way, especially the ones that were retired, as long as the price was reasonable. I have a large collection, including all the ones that were currently available. I got most of those one by one over the years using store coupons. Alas, that is no more.

I'm not a big fan of punches any more. You can get a die for about the same price, and they work much better than a punch.
Once the die makers catch on, life will be much better.

A punch can work with any size paper, even those that are too big to fit inside a die-cutting/embossing machine. it's also quick and easy - no need to get out a large machine.

So I just ASKED someone at my Michaels and they told me that indeed they were discontinuing MS paper crafting products.

The Michaels by me also has them discounted, so naturally, I had to pick up a couple.

I actually do prefer the simple ease of using a punch over a die cutting machine. I only used my Big Shot 2 or 3 times and gave it away. I thought it was a pain in the neck.

I use my Cricut but its so much easier with some shapes and with borders just to grab the punch.

Punches are for paper, they work on lite cardstock, for a while then they work on only paper. There are a few tricks with sprays and tin foil, but by the time you think of them the tricks don't really work.

I have used punches on Felt, Lace, Egg Cartons, Aluminum Foil, Wax paper, and Sandpaper.

So Cardstock is not the only thing you can use it on.

BC (Before Cameo, lol) I used n collected so so many punches...I must have 90+. Now in the AC years (anno Cameo, natch!), I rarely grab for them...I have to really remind myself that they are still viable tools in my basket!!!

I love my punches. I have about 65. This includes my CM border punches. I do have a Big Shot and I use it all the time. I like having options.

I was just too lazy to use my Big Shot. Used it 2 or 3 times in the several years I had it. That is the truth. I was just to darn lazy to bother with it.
