Singer "Pixie" Craft Machine

I'm a big fan of my fellow scrappers that add stiching to their layouts. I don't own a sewing machine nor am I a very good hand sticher. Last evening I was at my local Walmart and saw a small sewing machine by Singer called the Pixie. Has anyone ever used it and if so what can you tell me about it. Keep in mind I only will be using it for scrapping. It had a switch for several differnt types of stiching. OH!! by the way it was only $48.00.

From what I've heard here- skip it. Get a real machine and you'll be happier. I have a husqvarna machine (for sewing fabric) and can use it to sew on paper as well.

You can pick up a brother or white at walmart for around $100 and would probably be much happier with it.

I checked reviews and the Pixie doesn't get the best ones. I don't have one, though, so I can't give you much more input than that. Sorry!

I've seen Brother sewing machines for around $89 at Wal-Mart. Personally, I would just skip the Pixie and get one of those. For only $40 more you would have a machine that you know would produce quality stitches!

I've got the pixie and love it. Haven't had any real problems with it. I love that it's so portable, i can bring it to crops!

I *love* mine. I have used it for scrapbooking as well as making clothes. I am very "stupid" when it comes to sewing and dont know my ******** from my elbow, and this is very easy to use. I bought mine at Walmart on clearance for $40 probably about 7 or 8 months ago. Then several months later it was in (I think it was) CK mag, or maybe it was Simple Scrapbooks. I dont know, I get like 6 magazines LOL. Anyway, it got great reviews for sewing on layouts

If you are a big sewer, I would say get a regular sewing machine. But as a beginner who knows nothing, I love my little Pixie

Thanks, I'm a beginner and know nothing about sewing so I think I will treat myself to the Pixie when I get paid on Friday. Walmart here I come.

My grand daughter's [other} grandmother bought her one for her birthday. I've been sewing for 50 years and have yet to get this machines to sew one stitch.

The bobbin loops but does not complete the stitch.

Anybody else have this problem.

I have a Tailor sewing machine and a vintage Singer, I got so made at the Pixie, we packed it away and I showed her how to sew a straight line on my machine. She did fine and was thrilled to use a big girl machine.

We don't want to hurt the grandmother's feelings but the machine is useless and she got it knowing my grand daughter wanted to learn to sew, she is 11.
