Best Stamps

I wanna start to stamp some stuff for cards & scrapbooking (of course! :D) I was wondering which stamps you guys like the best.. clear stamps, rubber stamps, wood stamps, etc. thanks for your help!

My favorites are clear stamps...you can see exactly where you are stamping

I still prefer rubber stamps over the clear ones. I like the ones that are unmounted and have cling on the back the best. I think the image is more crisp than what you get with clear stamps, plus I don't like that many clear stamps are so sticky that they are hard to get off the sheet. JMO, of course.

I'm not a huge stamper, but I have both kinds ...

the rubber ones give a sharper image
the clear ones are much easier to see in terms of placement and are way easier to store

And to confuse you even further, I just LOVE wood-mounted stamps. I use an acrylic stamp positioner so don't feel the need to be able to see through them. I have quite a few of the clear ones, but given a choice I ALWAYS grab the others. My clear ones are rarely used. The downside, of course, is storage. It takes alot more room to store 200 wood-mounted stamps than it does to store 200 clear stamps. Keep that in mind if you plan to accumulate them.

I find clear stamps are like SHUSHI...if you start off with a cheap brand you will hate them for life!

Don't skimp when it comes to clear stamp, pay the extra money and get the better brands.

The cheaper brands of clear stamps are difficult to remove from their backing (it can be so bad it's feels like that are melted to the backing. I have also had stamps that were not even cut all the way through so I had to separate them)...WHILE at the same time don't stick to your blocks and fall off. Cheaper stamps can have problems with ink beading on the surface and can distort.

There is nothing more frustrating then learning how to stamp with a bad set of stamps and you think "I must be doing something wrong". NO it's the stamps you bought!

I actually really love both stamps and the rubber unmounted cling stamps too(like unity stamps).the clear and the cling ones you get more bang for your buck but for some reason I can not stamp right without using the stamp pad!so I would suggest getting one of those

And my recent find is close to my heart....VERY good quality for clear stamps and I love the little pad that they include...REALLY helps when you stamp!!!!

I love

good quality wood block stamps
excellent quality clear stamps
and I REALLY LOVE Justrite stamps,,,they are ridge stamp,,,the ridges on the back of the stamps lock into the ridges on the stamper.

You get what you pay for! I also find to use and eraser on my acrylic ones before the first use, to take the film off and give a crisper image IMO

And I agree, my more expensive acrylic stamps work well and the cheapie ones stink.

I love my rubber stamps-I have some from StampinUp. I loveee Stampabilities House Mouse stamps-they are just SO cute. I buy alot from J's and M's too. Downside is I am running out of room! I have 3 large wall shelves displaying all my rubber stamps.

As for clear stamps-I agree...do NOT skimp and buy cheap ones. My favorite clear stamps are from PapertreyInk-worth every single penny!

I love them all. Clear, cling, rubber, expensive, cheap, chipped, stained, and crusted over.

I will say that my least favorite is My Sentiments Exactly clear stamps. I've had several tear and they're squishy... but I just piece them back together on the block and go easy on the pressure.

Priming a cheap stamp with a nail file, sand paper, or eraser works like a charm.

I also have tons of digi stamps-lots n lots of freebies out there and very talented artists

They are WAY cheaper than traditional stamps and look just as good =)

I have just recently gotten into digital stamps! They are lots of fun! I have been collecting some Twilight digital stamps! LOVE them!!!!

I agree that you get what you pay for. Storage is a real issue for me so as long as they're cling mounted I'm ok with them.

The only "cheap" clear stamps I've had trouble with were "no name" brands I've picked up from department stores.

Prima clear stamps are very inexpensive and I love them, and most of my sentiments are from Kaisercraft.

Cling mounted red rubber are my absolute favourite (love my stamper's anonymous ones) for a crisp image but I'm getting better with the clear ones - it's just important to remember that each stamp is different so practice a couple of times before stamping directly onto your project.

I still love using my wooden stamps. I have bought all brands. I agree about getting a nice clear image with them. I do have some acrylic too. There are some amazing designs out there so I have to get them too. If I could only choose one type, it would be wooden. have fun beware... it is addicting!! lol

My favorite rubber are cling mount-- Unity, Gina K, and Hero Arts.

Favorite acrylics-- Papertrey Ink, Verve, My Favorite Things, There She Goes, Waltzing Mouse

Just a question.. has anybody heard of or use Studio g cling mount rubber stamps? I know.. they're cheap.. (a dollar for 1) but its cuz they r mini-ish so.. does anybody use them because I was out shoppin @ ACM's (because they had a huge sale going on) and i went to this box shelf you could say.. and i saw stamps and i kinda wanted to buy them.. but I wanted to stick to my MOST wanted and needed at the moment list.. thnx in advance!

I have picked up some studio g ones, only ones that I think I can use. Some are really cute. I wouldn't buy say a big fourth of july set because I just don't think I would use them that much, but for $1- I can work in a little firecracker and not feel bad that I can only use it once a year.

I like Studio G. They're kinda soft so light pressure with a mat underneath the paper (like a mouse pad or cushiony packaging) does the trick.

I find that with cheaper stamps, I use cheaper ink and they work better. Not sure why. I only have one clear stamp that doesn't stamp well, other than that, I haven't had any problems.

Love love love my clear stamps. I got a bunch from close to my heart before I knew the difference. Tried some cheapie walmart ones and they sucked. You def get what you pay for.
