finding rubber stamps with months on them

i am having problem finding rubber stamps with the months of the year on them . any suggestions i found some clear stamps but i never worked with them before . if i go with them how do i clean them off when im done and how do i use them .

Im not a stamping expert, but Ive found the acrylic ones just as easy to use as the wooden mounted ones. Its also easier to place the stamp exactly where you want it too with the clear ones. You just need the blocks that hold the stamp on temporarily. They should be near where the stamps are sold. And to clean them, I use baby wipes, but some folks recommend actual stamp cleaner.

I have a very nice acrylic set by Inkadinkadoo. I love acrylic stamps, they are very easy to use, you have to buy a block or two though.

BTW - I use a stamp scrubber and Judiken spray and it works fine on acrylic.

For the acrylic stamps you will need an acrylic block to adhere them to! It's very easy - I actually like the clear stamps better - you are able to see where your stamped imaged will be placed - no guessing!!! check to see if there are some tutorials here or check out you tube.

If you don't stamp very often and don't want to buy a block, you can use a cd case or tape cassette case for clear stamps. I even use the clear plates from my cuttlebug for large stamps. Really anything the stamp will stick to that is solid will work. But, of course, an actual acrylic block is the tool to go with if you are going to be stamping a lot.

You can clean them with water or a little mild detergent too. No need for expensive stamp cleaner unless you already have it for your rubber stamps.

I think you would like the clear stamps. Once you use them you will probably want to start buying other clear stamps. Michaels and Hobby Lobby both carry them along with the blocks... many times on sale. You can clean them with baby wipes or just by stamping them on a dampened paper towel... no need to buy anything expensive. I did buy a stamp cleaner pad and the bottled cleaner but not for over a year after I had purchased and used the stamps. Good luck.

I will agree with the clear stamps, they are great to see what you are stamping and they store easier too!

they had some clear ones at M's yesterday,,,,,IDK how much, but clear stamps tend to be much cheaper than wood block stamps.

And if you clean them with baby wipes, just make sure to use the alcohol free kind.

I am not the best at cleaning mine; I tend to stamp them off multiple times on a piece of scrap paper til hardly any ink is left on them. If I am not in a hurry, I'll use baby wipes or stamp cleaner.

To use the clear stamps, just peel it off the backing paper. Put the flat side of the stamp onto your stamping block or CD case. Ink it up, then stamp just like you would with a rubber stamp that's already on a wood block. Easy peasy! Also, don't smoosh it too much or you will blur the image. Stamp straight up and down. Have fun!

just a suggestion, but before I got a clear block for mine...I was using the inkadinkadoo stamp pads and I would use the lid to place my stamp on it. The lid is clear so it worked nice ly. I just peeled off the sticker on top. I eventually got more in to stamping and got larger ones to match the larger stamps. If you are just using small ones and have a J's or M's near you...check out their dollar bin. They usually have the small blocks there or pm me and I'll send you one. Also...you could try one of their dollar stamps first to see if you like them or not. I like both, but the clear ones are great so you can see where you are stamping.

okay my next question is where to get blocks. and what kind of ink to buy , couild i use the same inks that i use for my rubber stamps .

You can buy the blocks at the same place you get the stamps.

I've seen the small blocks with the $1 stamps at several stores. I have a set of the acrylic month stamps (small $1 stamps).

You can get the clear blocks at any craft store. I spent a little more on mine and got the ones that have slightly curved edges... making them easier for me to hold than the rectangular ones. There were 2 in the set. I used a 40% coupon at M's. That store also has the small squares ones in their dollar bins.
