What goes with red and white gingham?

I posted this on another board already, but thought I'd see what all of you thought. I have some pics of DD in a red and white gingham swimming suit by the pool at swim lessons. I made a little doll of her in the suit, and found some MAMBI stickers I want to use. The MAMBI sticker I want to use is wavey with red and white gingham (or maybe plaid or checkered) print. What color of background paper? I've tried that paper that looks like water (horrible), I've tried a bright light blue color, and I've tried yellow. I don't like any of them. What would you guys say?

Hey Tracy,
Can you scan the pictures and show us? Maybe then we could help a little better.....I am such a visual person sometimes it's hard for me to imagne.

It is a bit hard to invision.
Based on what I am imagining, why not use something with a white, or light colored backgound, that has little red polka dots or tiny hearts or something.
The gingham is what I consider to be a "busy" print. Anything too strong or busy in the background is going to be way too much. You definately want some color back there, but keep it simple, and I think you'll be pleased with the results.
You might take your gingham paper to your local scrapbook store and look for something that coordinates with it. Just remember, simple.

Hi, Tracy! I read your post on the other board, too, and I was thinking maybe a navy blue...? Seems like that's what I always use with red and white! Or a more primary blue. With white mats on the photos, that could look very crisp and clean.

Hey Dudette! Indigo blue is dark blue. On the rainbow color chart, it's the last color before violet. HTH
