Does anyone here use digital stamps but not digital scrapbooking?

I have found a set of digital stamps that I want...but have never tried digital stamps before. So.....any suggestions? Once I download them into a folder, how should I open them to print? I made a folder in my pictures files, for digital stamps...I can open them in that....but should I be opening them in something else? What else do you do with dig stamps?

You can save them to any folder just like you would save anything else.

I print them on transparency and cut them out.



They should come in a .zip format or as a simple .png or .jpeg file. You open them in whatever photo or picture viewer you use, photoshop, picassa, paint.net...etc.

Do you alter them in any way or just print? I found some GREAT dig twilight ones that I want to do a card out of!!! I have looked and looked for twilight stamps but just haven't found what I want so these would be perfect to print and color with my copics....I have a friend with a preteen that LOVES twilight...so this would be awesome for her!!!!! And heck I love twilight too!!!!!!

You can open them in word and resize them. I've found that sometimes they are rather large. I think this is so you can size them without them getting blurry since it's easier to make things smaller than to make things bigger.

Open a word document
Click insert (in the top bar)
go down to picture
choose from file.

That should open up a browser. Go to the folder you have the digi stamp in and select the digi stamp you want to use.

A border box should show up around the picture. You can drag the borders to resize it.

I digiscrap, but I don't think I've ever mixed digistamps with digiscrapping. I've used the stamps a lot for cards, and I'm working on some paper LOs that I'm using a digistamp on (printed on cardstock, colored with Copics, and trimmed close to the outline of the stamp).

You can change the size, or if you print them on cardstock, you can color them, you can color the transparency, but I would use alcohol inks for that.

The ones I have I use on top of a photo before I print out. Never really thought to print them out and cut them for embllies! Might have to try that!

So... aren't digital stamps just black-and-white clipart?

Yep. They can even be pre-colored. While most are black and white line drawings, some designers offer them in both versions, black and white and "ready to use".

Usually digital stamps are better resolution then the free clipart you find online but its the same as most commercial clipart.

And you can do the same thing with them you do for any other image. Open in MsPaint or other editing software, color it in, change line color, whatever your program allows.

The only difference really is that the step of pressing them into rubber (or burning them into photopolymer) is skipped and the consumer gets the digital file.

I mix digital stamps with digital scrapbooking, I mix it with paper scrapbooking, I use them to make cards & mix them with regular stamping. Here are a couple paper layouts that I incorporateddigital stamps:

99% of my cards over the last year are made with digital images. I really like using them and find they are much more versatile and treat my wallet way better. I usually use Paintshop Pro for all my digital work, but you can use any program that will allow you to open or import the digital image file. If you know how to use MS Word and all you want to do is resize and print the image, then that is probably your best bet. I usually colour the image with my copics, but I also use pencil crayons & oms, watercolours, paper piecing. Lots of techniques work so well with digital stamps. And if you have an electronic cutter that will allow you to import the digital image file, you can cut them. I use my files with my CraftRobo all the time. Here's a card where I used a digital image (the rooster) and cut it out with my CR.

I usually open them in Word. First, I go to wherever I have them saved on my computer. I right mouse click on the icon that shows my stamp, click copy, then head over into word and paste it into the document for resizing. Easy peasy. If I only want to use part of an image, I crop it in photo editing software before pasting into word. I save the cropped version under a different name, though, so I still have both it and the full version for later use.

I do paper scrapbooking but I love digital stamps with my cards! I have tons in my gallery and tons of posts on my blog with tutorials for coloring, labels on the L for easy navigation. I also have a list of free digi stamp sites and stores that I like to visit.

I use iPhoto with my digis.

I love digital stamps. I resize as needed and print. Then I cut them out and use them like embellishments on cards and layouts. I have a flower pot card in my gallery with a little butterfly on it that is a digital stamp. I loved how that card came out. The butterfly was the perfect addition.

Does anyone know of a good site to research how to color faces with copics?

I open them in my word program, resize them to whatever size I need and then color them with my Copics. I usually use them for a card front.

I don't digi scrap but I do loveeeee digi stamps! There are sooooo many talented peeps out there and LOTS of freebies to be had =) I still buy rubber stamps but digi's are wayyy cheaper plus you can resize them so very versatile!

I use digital stamps and I like them. I haven't used my digital scrapbooking elements in awhile.
