Will Original Sizzix Machine use Tim Holtz Dies?

Hello everyone,
I am new to this forum and would like to give you all a big hello from Missouri.I have a question if anyone would care to answer?I bought an original sizzex machine a few years back for making bottlecap jewelry ( converter plate smashes bottle caps perfect)and have discovered how much fun making paperbag scrapbooks are.My question is this, Will any of the Tim Holtz alteration dies work with my machine?Thought maybe some of you have delt with this issue before and would like to have a heads up before spending money on the dies.Thanks!

According to what I found online, the larger of the TH dies is 5.5 inches wide. I measured the cutting plate in my big red (original sizzix) and it's not quite 5 inches wide. I don't think they will work.

I hope someone comes on here and says I'm wrong!

I had the original red sizzix ......the TH dies do not fit ......I bought a cuttlebug and they work great in it!

I believe that most of his dies are Bigz size or larger and the older machine does not accomodate those. I've heard that they do fit into the Cuttlebug though:)
