Good question...

my best. Let's see. This is kinda tough because I take TONS of pictures (I'm not kidding...my son is not even 2 years yet and I've already taken 2400 pictures - scary) So I've tried not to miss ANYTHING. But one time pops out in my mind. Noah must have only been a couple months old, we went to Cold Stone (because I'm addicted, it's the best ice cream place in the world for those you don't know) and while we were there Noah laughed for the very first time. I quickly grabbed my camera, from the diaper bag, and shot some of the cutest shots with Noah and his daddy luaghing away. It was a sweet (no pun intended) moment. One I would have NEVER been able to capture before I scrapped.

the worst. Another hard one, because I hate beating myself up over this. But I wish I would have taken more pictures of Noah with my mom. She passed last May so I didn't have much time with the two of them. But I didn't get any really good ones of them, or just her for that matter. I was so busy taking pics of him...sleeping, and eating, and laying down, and smiling...blah blah blah that I didn't take much of anythign else. Our parents aren't ever here long enough...

There should be more of me overall as well. So let's make sure that we get outselves, and those close to us in the ole scrapbook too! It's hard to focus away from our cute little kiddos, at least for me it is , but it's important to have everyone included.

ON THAT NOTE: To help with getting pictures of myself I've added something new to my camera bag. Since NO ONE seems to be able to use my SLR right I've added a very simple Point and Shot so others can take pictures of ME and so they actually come out! Seems to be working well.

My best just happened a couple weeks ago, while all the grandchildren were playing really well together one morning and I was cleaning up the kitchen after the breakfast detail. My 3year old granddaughter Patra comes into the kitchen with black stuff all over her face and one hand. I could not figure out what she had gotten into in the house that would make her face so black. It then dawned on me she had gotten my black ink pad for stamping instead of going beserk I grabbed my camera which only had B&W film in it when I pointed the camera towards her she gave me the most SEE WHAT I DID smile and I got a great photo plus what she had on her hand I grabbed a sheet of cardstock and got her handprint at the same time. Now the one that got away from me was with the same gc and of her grandpa after he had gotten his haircut that he hadn't had time to get to in 6 months when he walked through the door her expression was like the boy from Home Alone but without the screaming

I'm not sure what the best photo would be--I know I've gotten lots more priceless pics since I started scrapping, just from carrying the camera around with me more. The one that popped into my mind when I read the question is one I took of my nephew and my father playing with a ball in the living room--they are both laughing at each other, and it really captures their very special grandpa/grandson relationship.

The worst missed photo op--well, there have been a lot of those too, but the one I *instantly* thought of was at my SIL's baby shower last summer. I was in charge of taking pics, but of course, I left my spare roll of film in the car w/ my DH. So I was using up the last pics on my MIL's crappy camera, and I had someone take a picture of a group of us: my twin SILs, my MIL, my aunt-in-law, and my DH's cousin. We are virtually the only women on that side of the family, and it was the first time we had ever all been together for a picture.

I asked my MIL to save me the negs, but I think she threw them away or something--at any rate, she informed me that she no longer had them, and it doesn't sound like she still has even the originals. (She is getting quite forgetful--I have to wonder if she just threw them away.) GRRRRRR! I hope someday a copy of those pics will turn up!

What is the best moment so far that you have captured on film mainly because you are now a scrapper? I don't necessarily mean your best photo, but something precious to you and your memories that you never would have taken a picture of before you became a scrapper - you know, back in the days when you didn't have several rolls of fresh film just hanging out in your purse, a camera with you at all times, etc. Also, what is the one moment you really missed out photographing because you hadn't discovered scrapbooking and never thought to take a photo or didn't have a camera handy, etc. Here are mine:

Best: I was just stepping outside with dd in the middle of a weekday. I live in a very isolated part of Lousiana on a military base, so I wouldn't exactly call what happened next a usual occurence. I heard jingling and my dd yelled out 'Look! A horse carriage!" Sure enough, there was indeed a horse drawn carriage parading down the street! I had my camera all ready to go and snapped a few shots. Then, the driver stopped and asked if dd wanted a ride - he was the grandpa of a little boy who lived at the end of our street and had the whole carriage full of kids from our neighborhood. So, dd hopped on and I followed the carraige down the street. When they stopped at the little boys house, his grandpa then oput all the kids on top of the horse and let us take photos. I NEVER would had had a camera with me if I wan not a scrapper and never leave the house without my camera. The photos even turned out nice too.

The Worst: Before I was a scrapper, it never occured to me to get a closeup shot of dds tiny fingers in dhs hand or any other cute closeup photos of tiny hands & feet, belly button etc. I really wish I had photos like that - I always tell new moms to not forget those precious photos.

THAT HAPPENED TO ME TOO! I did the same thing, took pictures, THEN cleaned him up.
They page I did turned out cute. I called it "Noah's stamp of approval" and used cardstock with his hand prints all over it as the background. I also took a single thumb print and make what looked like a approval seal and wrote "thumbs up" on it. Have fun scrappin yours. Let us know what you come up with.

I think one of my best that I can think of was last spring when we went camping at East Harbor. It was unusually warm and we had about 10 squirt guns in the camper toy box. I have no idea who started filling them or how the whole thing got started, but before you knew it the whole family got into it. And we were camping with my husband's mother and two brothers with their wives and altogether 4 children. It was rather amuzing to watch the grown men go after each other with squirt guns with the same energy as my 2 and 4 year olds. I got some great pictures of everyone getting in on the act.

I'd say my worst can't be any one subject, but rather I tend to leave people out of pictures that I don't realize until I get the pictures back. For example, my son's 2nd birthday was recently and when I got the two rolls of film back from the party I realized that I hadn't taken any pictures of my parents with their grandson. I just remember and next time try to get every one.

There are so many best shots that stand out in my mind. Probably the most precious right now would be the pictures of my second son’s first smile. We had stopped into my husband’s grandmother’s house after grocery shopping for a short visit one Friday afternoon. Caleb was only 5 weeks old. I put him in grandma’s arms and as she sat there talking to him, he looked up at her and smiled the biggest, sweetest, smile. This was just an ordinary day, but what an extraordinary visit! She passed away this October when Caleb was only 7 months. He will not have any memories of her except for the ones we pass down in our stories and our pictures.

Worst missed photo opportunity was the birth of same son. Poor planning on my part and a really, really quick delivery did not give us enough time to even think about getting the camera out of the car, let alone take pictures right after he was born. I do have lots of pictures in the hospital – but there is something so special about those first few moments with a brand new baby.

Mine best is a little different than the others:

Over Christmas we had TONS of family staying with us and we did lots of Christmas pictures with each immediate family as well as group pictures. My sister and I have digital cameras so when I say "lots", I mean LOTS. It's great, though, because between the two of us we have so many pictures to pick from and there are some really great pictures. We can view them on the computer and see which pictures we want printed and save all of them on CD. With a regular camera we wouldn't have taken so many pictures and probably missed a lot of the great shots. Also, if we didn't scrapbook we most likely wouldn't care to have taken so many pictures.

My worst: Two years ago my husband was sent to Bosnia for 4 months with the Air Force. In the middle of his time he was given 5 days off and sent to Germany. I met him in Germany and we had a blast! Only I didn't take very many pictures This was before I started scrapbooking and I didn't even think about how important those pictures would be to me. I am in the process of scrapbooking those pictures right now and really wish I had more.

Hi All!
My Best photo op was just a few weeks ago. I was working on a page for my nephew on kissable cheeks (he's got extremely chubby cheeks) and I had snapped pics of me, my sister and mom leaving kissy marks on his cheeks. After placing DJ on the floor, my year old puppy came over and began to lick his face! I managed to snap a pic of her giving DJ a great big kiss---it turned out great!
My worst would be that I did not take a lot of pictures while in college.....I'll never be able to get those back.
Now my camara is with me everywhere...hate to miss out on those photo ops!

Heather, this is a great topic!
I am having a hard time picking out the best. Might be the picture I have of my husband sitting under a tree at a campground last year carving a little bear. b4 scrapping, I would have to carry pictures like that in my heart.
Worse missed opportunity isn't one that I didn't take, but dd told me about catching her 16 month ds in her pantry, standing on a big can with a bag of miniature marshmallows in his hand and a mouthful of them. I can just see the page I would have scrapped of him - and it's killing me!!
