Which glue ?

Topic Closed
  • EllieElvis
hi, just wondering if anyone can tell me which is the best glue to use to stick paper on to my main lo paper (hope you know what i mean) thanks
  • Susanlk
I usually use photo splits or a tape runner. If you're doing paper to paper, often a glue stick will work just fine.

When using photo splits or tape runners, I just put adhesive on the four corners and if it's larger than 4x6, I'll put one in the center. If it's a really large piece, like 8.5x11, I'll then use adhesive in 8 spots & the center.

    Hope that makes sense.

I use Glue Dots for large pieces but if I need to glue i use ZIG .

I don't use liquid glue for paper, I don't like how it warps.
    I use a tape runner.
  • Siameseplease
    I prefer Mono Adhesive .

I don't care for wet adhesives - I always end up curling my paper. And glue sticks worked great until everything fell off my pages w/in a few months.

I prefer glue runners - the one I use (adtech) holds stronger than the tape runners I've tried (herma, photo splits).

    I use a Dab-N-Seal stick.
It's for all paper products. You can find it at HL or Michael's

I am concerned about my pages I used a photo glue stick on It says permanent. I am working on books for my grandkids. Will they fall apart by the time they get them.

I've never heard a good review for glue sticks after several years go by.
Like I said in another thread, I used a scrapbooking glue stick for an earlier album and now it needs to be redone.
After time, the glue from glue sticks gets brittle and looses its sticking ability. Then the paper and photos fall off.

I use duck brand tape runners all around (I know it's a bit of an overkill but I don't want my papers falling apart!)

I will go shopping for a new type of adhesive. Thanks for the experienced answer. I am new to scrappin and want to preserve the memories.

Tape runners and the ZIG Glue pen.

I love the Kokuyo tape runner!

Love my xyron tape runner or Glue Dots for this!

I love using my Hermafix because I can move things if I change my mind. I also use Mono Adhesive (permanent) and Glue Dots for small things.

Hi Ellieelvis, I invested in an atg adhesive runner, sotra pricey to buy but the refills are cheaper than anything you can but and last forever!!!!
  • Grammy24
But, I still love my xyron for letters and whatever alse I want to use it on.

these are the ones i use most often:

I use my xyron for most things. I also have the xyron 2" adhesive runner. I've used it for a few years now and love it. Glue Dots seem to work well and I like tape runners too. I used liquid scrapbook glue at first and I didn't like how it warped.

I use the good old glue stick to glue paper to paper. I make sure it is permanent because some aren't... unless you want that... and I find the stickiest one I can find. I have used brands from Pioneer , Tombo Mono, 3M, and the list goes on.

I save the tapes and the Glue Dots for other heavier things but I work off a budget. I guess I use a glue stick for most everything really.
  • Here Kitty
careful using the glue sticks. I used "permanent" and "quality" glue sticks for albums I made 10 years ago and more and they're all falling to pieces. They all have to be redone. AFter so many years the glue sticks just stop working.
  • Tmmvol
I use the Tombo Mono Adhesive for all things paper, including photographs. I save my Glue Dots for other things, like ribbons or heavier embellies. I use my xyron x to run small die cut letters, etc. through.

i am all about my atg gun. in other words, a over glorified tape runner. i also have a couple permanent glue sticks, fabric tac, and a stapler laying around...

only 1 kind of glue is my fave, and i get it at Target in the scrapbooking aisle, it dries clear, fast and has a precision applicator, it rocks!! its by 3M, and i think its just called "scrapbooking adhesive" its acid free and all that stuff too, so safe for your pics. it holds like concrete and one tube will last you forever.

I use photo splits ( Scotch brand) for photos and bigger things, and Glue Dots for ribbon, buttons, etc. Brads can also keep things in place if they're small..

    Hope this helped.
