Scanning/Printing 12x12's from home computer

Has anyone ever scanned or printed a 12x12 from their home computer? I have a Lexmark and the whole 12x12 will not fit on there. I have looked for a printer that will hold 12x12's and it costs $500.00 which is way out of my league. Any one have any advise for me please? I don't know what to do or even how to attempt it. I did two 8.5x11's and scanned and printed those with no problem. These 12x12's are a pita. PLEASE HELP ME!

I am not really the one to answer but Do you have a programme like photo studio on your computer. If you do or have something similar you can scan it on in two halves and then stitch the two together to look like one page scanned on. You may notice some layouts in the gallery may look a little different down the middle, htese have been scanned.

does anyone here even have a printer that'll print 12 inch layouts/photos? Cause I'm thinking lately that I really, really need one, but as ttravers said, they're pretty expensive. Do you guys get along without one, or is it a necessity for y'all? I just really like the look of one really big photo stretching all the way across the page. If anyone has one, which one do you have?

Epson makes several printers that will print 12 x 12 pages. The Epson 1280 costs around $300. Does seem expensive? On the other hand, who doesn't put that in their scrapbook supplies already.

I have the HP large format printer on my Wish List for my birthday. It's right after Tax time, so that's when I get my "expensive stuff"

You need a stitching program (which are pretty easy to use) or a digital camera, to take a picture of the layout. I'll let others tell you about stitching programs, because although we have one, I haven't had to use it with my los here, because I've just taken digital photos.

My hubby stitches together panoramic view shots all the time, and I've seen him do it, using a program called Photo Stitch. You might check it out. HTH

I just downloaded a free 15 day trial version of Arcsoft's Panorama Maker 3. It is very simple to use. It actually does the stitching for you. All you need to do is scan (no matter the size of your scanner,) the left side of your lo and save it, then scan the right side of your lo and save it as well. Then you open up Panoram Maker 3 and get your two pictures and click next and the work is done for you, then you save your stitched layout! Simple as that. If all you want to do is scan your 12x12 scrapbook pages onto the computer than you just scan both halves and bring them together in a program like photoshop. If you want to print 12x12 layouts that is another story. Since most standard printers only print as large as 8.5x11, a good printer that prints 12x12's can run you quite a bit of money.
