Ink Smudges on Photos - Removing them

I used my MM corner stamp today with the colorbox ink pad. When I stamped the corner of the photo a bit of the ink from the side of the stamp got on the photo. I ran and got a paper towel, dampened it and then quickly tried to gently wipe the ink off.......the majority came off but there is still a bit of a smudge. It's been a few hours so there is nothing I can do about it now. But......if that happens in the future.....what is the best way to remove the ink without ruining the picture and/or leaving a smudge from a bit of the ink not removed with the first wipe?

Any ideas? are there any products on the market to use for this purpose?

I have used regular baby wipes to get off ink smudges on photos. I think it really depends on the kind of ink used. And be careful if you print out your own photos, if you try too hard rubbing it will remove the photo image.

You can try Photo Solution by Undu. I have used it with great success on some of my heritage photos & others. I would make certain the ink was very well dry.
