Sizzix Sidekick Static Removal

Hi, I just got my Sizzix Sidekick and noticed that after several passes there is quite build up of static. I used a "used" dryer sheet to remove it (rubbed the sandwich plates and sizzlet).

i just swipe my hand over the plates to de-static them.

my sidekick just broke!!!!!!!!! IM SO MAD! i just bought it YESTERDAY!

what happened?

i've heard a number of ladies on here talking about things getting into the gears - i don't see how this could possibly happen if working with the machine as directed.

however, sizzix has EXCELLENT customer service and is great at replacing defective products, etc.

i dont know what happened to the thing! I did not do anything the directions didnt say. I put the paper over the die, and sandwiched the die between the cutting pads. When I went tofeed it through the machine, I heard a loud popping noise, annd it wouldnt feeed the die through anymore. I had used it numerous times before...
I just emailed Sizzix about it.
