Seasoned Inkers? Question

I sanded and inked some plastic embellishments like buttons and photo corners with Tsukineko Metallic pigment base ink last night and sixteen hours later they are still not dry. I even tried using my heat gun a little and no luck. What I am doing wrong? I can't use the heat gun anymore because I already melt the plastic in one of the embellisments. Please help you seasoned INKERS!

You will have to wait a VERY long time. Pigment ink has a hard time drying on porous surfaces like paper, it's even worse on non-porous things like plastic.

I believe that pigment ink is dried by being absorbed, so it might not ever dry on plastic. I use alcholhol ink on plastic and glass. It dries by evaporation and is great for non porous surfaces. Tim Holtz has a line of alchohol inks in four different color families of three colors each. You can apply them with a q-tip or a piece of felt to distress the edges of something.

yup, pigment ink won't dry on plastic! It dries by being absorbed by the object and if it's nonporous, it won't absorb and thus dry. For plastic, your best bet is probably staz on.

Alcohol inks, they are wonderful. Work on anything.

also the palette hybrid inks are AWESOME! they work on paper, wood, plastic, fabric, you name it. I get them in the spot size because I prefer them for storage issues- I ordered them from hearts in touch. I am sure other places have them too.
